Reality. I urge people to look at page 10-11 of the Sunday Times dated 27/9
is’s headlined “ Breakdown of U.K. Pandemic Statistics in Dots”
Each dot represents 10,000 people of the 6700 red dots which represent the U.K. population only 4 are needed in black to represent the Covid deaths
Makes you realise the whole lockdown measures are pointless and we’ve should move to the Swedish model soonest

Moving away from all the armchair epidemiologists here for a moment & reflecting more the thread header...
As a direct result of the impact of COVID-19 on the aviation world the preferred bidder for Prestwick Airport has walked away from the deal.

Anyone entering Germany from either Wales or Northern Ireland must now follow 2 weeks quarantine on arrival in Germany
If cases continue to rise, I imagine there will be further cases of Brits not being welcome abroad, and demand for air travel declining

Maybe a sign that the country is just starting to get the latest spike under control with a hint of a drop in the R numbers
Covid-19: Growth in cases may be slowing in England https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54366478

I follow Dr John Campbell’s daily updates on Youtube daily. He is respected and everything he says is linked to clear data, research papers from around the world and scientific studies.. He talks about things governments don’t seem to mention.
This is his latest report as a sampler. (Today’s link).

Wizz are still complaining that they are being prevented from basing 20 aircraft at Gatwick. A sigh of relief from Luton? https://simpleflying.com/wizz-air-slot-waiver-nonsense/
Wizz could put 20 aircraft at Gatwick tomorrow

Of course the population have nothing to do with the current situation of rising cases as they have all stopped partying and are all follow the quarantine rules including when they return from their holidays from designated quarantine areas. I can fully understand why this happens as we all just want a normal life.

Meanwhile back in our world...
Stobart Air state is operating below the expectations set out in June hurt by Ireland`s stringent Q rules which have limited flying it also says sales sales talk continuing with multiple parties.
Overall Stobart continues it`s stance of giving no forward guidance on its finances due to the uncertainty wrought by the pandemic.

I read in the German media last week that the travel and tourism industry is talking about an existential threat to it's existence unless travel restrictions are removed for next summer, and that's even with the large chunk of federal support given to the sector by the government in Berlin. I really do fear for the short to medium term future of people working in travel at the moment. When I returned from Germany last weekend on Eurotunnel, the terminal in Cocquelle was pretty well deserted, and even with only 2 trains per hours to UK, our train was barely half full of vehicles. That is not sustainable for any long period of time; Saturday, at almost any time of year is usually heaving with traffic.
I think Sweden may get away with it, Italy too, since whilst their trend is upwards, like Germany it's not a sudden meteoric rise. Greece must be a candidate, and I agree, also possibly Poland. That naughty step will need expanding if all these countries are to "maintain social distancing"!

I have already had the conversation with my H&S people in Germany as I live in the UK in West Yorkshire when here, and we are currently in special measures (Like double secret probation as in the Film Animal House ! - showing my age ). I was supposed to be in Germany again this week, but decided after discussion to stay here until next week. Had to cancel my Flu jab in Germany, and still can not get one here as Boots are saying only for over 65 or essential workers. I class as the later in Germany, but not here apparently. Anyway as you point out UK will need a bigger step soon, but also we maybe on one or two other peoples steps as well. In Munich there was no Oktoberfest (Wiesen) this year which helped keep infection rates down I guess. This was only the second time it has been cancelled, the last time being Wall Street Crash and run on the Mark that followed. I was surprised to find it occurred on a small scale in 1945 when much of the city as in ruins, they like their Beer but not this year, that Covid has a lot to answer for say my staff !!
Cheers

Poland and Turkey have joined the quarantine list, Greece escapes for another week.
Another blow for the IT industry, even though the season only has 4 weeks to run.

From the mainstream media:
Covid: Vaccine will 'not return life to normal in spring' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54371559
For arrivals in Scotland Turkey Poland and some Caribbean Island now have to quarantine for 14 days.

I’m not confused at all. I’ve read the same articles that are available to anyone who’s prepared to do a bit of research.

"The researchers warn the issue of long-term immunity will still take some time to answer, and we still do not know if people need vaccinating every couple of years or if one shot will do".
And yet you're complaining about my use of "as yet there is no conclusive evidence either way".
I rest my case.

Reality impacts continued...(as per header)
Accounts highlight material uncertainty of the Belfast City Airport operation as a going concern.
The Boss of the airport said the business is still "resilient" despite a question mark over its future in company accounts & will have to secure a new agreement next year to protect it from onerous financial covenants.
