Very true but perhaps a post or 2 on Airliner net as there are many Americans on there and many work in the industry.
A good way to get known is always a TV series based in an area which the BBC are past masters at exporting around the world (Poldark for Cornwall )

The new Ryanair routes are loaded at last.
Seville-Mon/Fri early AM departure
Frankfurt- daily ex-Sat early afternoon departure
Cologne- daily morning departure
Shannon- increases from 4 to 5 weekly
Possibly other changes but this is just what's been picked up on.

From another forum, it seems MAN refused a Jet2 B738 a little earlier this evening wanting to divert from LBA. I believe a similar thing happened with a RYR flight from LBA a week or so ago. The notam for MAN specifies only certain large a/c as not being accepted except in emergency:
B) 17/02/05 20:30 C) 17/04/06 04:30
E) AERODROME UNABLE TO ACCEPT TYPES A380, B747-8 AND AN-124 DIVERSIONS (EXCEPT EMERGENCIES) DUE WIP. SCHEDULED A380 OPERATIONS WILL BE UNAFFECTED.
Is the embargo across the board and if so shouldn't the notam reflect that, or are these just specific cases where for some reason the airport or handling agent couldn't oblige?
There is another notam about 23R/05L being closed from 22.30 to 06.00 this week due WIP
Not of monumental importance, but just curious.

I think it was only going to be a matter of time before VS took JFK full time.
Let's hope SFO can go year round too. BOS hasn't been a stellar seller but hearing SFO doing well.

Seems BOS/SFO now end on 30th September. That's really not good. That coupled with a few ad-hoc cancellations throughout the summer. Wonder if the wheels are coming off the expansion.
At this rate I'd be surprised if the routes even return next summer with this latest news.

Ugh. I'm having to cancel my entire Itinerary. I was flying to Washington Via Paris and from LAX Via San Francisco. I'll just go via LHR instead. No faffing around with connections.

This unfortunately ties in with the Guardian article that Mr A Tis linked about the fragile US market and the slump in interest and bookings to various US destinations as reported by Kayak and the like. The Guardian referred to it as the 'Trump Slump', and while that newspaper is very hostile to Trump, the figures shown can't easily be dismissed.
The other important factor is the fall in the value of sterling which resulted from the BREXIT vote (and I'm not arguing whether that was right or wrong) and makes holidays for UK tourists so much more expensive. It emphasises the point made by Sir HumphreyNorth in an earlier post as to how vital it is to get the message out in the States to encourage more Americans to use the Manchester flights. Otherwise, what was developing into an encouraging expansion of US flights from MAN could just as readily go into reverse.
