I heard exactly the same thing from the AC1930 captain this last Tuesday.

My info is that it will be an Air Canada route. Not Rouge.

Rouge seem to be starting a couple of long haul flights form YVR - two to Japan and one to DUB.

AC mainline would be nice, though.

DUB already operates with the YYZ based aircraft, i.e YYZ-DUB-YVR-DUB-YYZ.

Assuming it must be Easyjet then?

I know TOM flew/flies to KEF but don't think it's 3x weekly

No, it's Icelandair: Icelandair S17 planned frequency increase as of 07OCT16 :: Routesonline

Must be an error as you said.

Icelandair.
I think you'll find that frequencies vary quite a lot depending on the season and that they were not daily in the Spring / early Summer. Whether it was only 3 x weekly though as the article states I'm not sure. Easyjet's schedules for next June show only 2 x weekly.

air Canada
they have been looking at 7 weekly yyz with rouge using 767s with the option of a year round service. then 5 days a week to yvr with mainline 777. ac1931 will be its normal 1245 departure and the yvr a 1730 departure. still very much in the pipeline though.

Can't see Toronto being a rouge B767 but then a mainline B777 to Vancouver!?

In Canada related news.

Transat have dropped Calgary but increased Vancouver to 3 weekly. Shame to see just 2 Canadian destinations on the boards next year, the market really seems to have deteriorated!

Those AC B777s have an enormous amount of seats to fill, especially the HD B77Ws common out of YVR. YYZ would go back to mainline first surely!

Is there a big cargo market that AC want to tap into?

sorry in my last post it should of been yvr 5 days a week summer only with mainline 777.
we have had mainline 767 this season for a few weeks in june and july. it reduced the capacity for the route due to the different config. for the amount of pax we had booked on the flight over summer, mainline would have to up to a 787 to cope with the numbers. but as is at the min, ac are taking bookings with rouge on a 767. as for cargo there is a steady flow been going out over the summer. but again to seriously brake into it they would need a bigger aircraft.

Canada

Surprised no direct service to Montreal on offer.
The last two years Rouge have given indications of a daily and a longer season, and on each occassion has failed to materialise.
On the Vancouver, Wardair had no trouble filliing 747s almost daily in summer- so what has happened to this market?
Previously I've tried to book Transat and they are always full, so end up either via LHR or AMS.
