Peter Hampson was indeed innovative during his time at MAN - he oversaw major changes and nothing was impossible. He moved on to set up his own company but unfortunately has been unwell of late though I believe he is improving. Best wishes to Peter, those were great times when you were at Manchester.

Indeed Peter, together with Debbie Riley went on to set up Airport Solutions Ltd and Gareth Cook, another former Manchester senior manager, later joined them.
As has been said, Peter was very innovative in his time at Manchester, although I was slightly unsure of his introduction of remote stands in the 24R holding bay - the correct designation at that time. I don't think that any of those stands were ever used.

I think he is definitely the guy the airport needs back. Sounds like he planned for everything, as an airport should do, all eventualities. I guess he had left by the time the decision to use the Apron as a car park was made.

Easyjet
When it was confirmed that EZY would have 11 based a/c at MAN for s2016, a couple of contributors - I think Viscount 702 was one - suggested that there were gaps in the program after the new routes had been loaded. For example,
only 9 departures in the first wave Sunday plus a few others during the week.
Is that still the case do you know, and any indication there could be a little more to come or does it look more like providing a bit of slack in the system?

EZY
I don't think the gaps have been filled as yet although I haven't done a proper check. If they are to be filled I think it may be to new destinations rather than all increases.
On other matters Jet2 have added a rotation to MJV on Tuesday but otherwise no other changes so far.

Jet2
When do Jet2 start to receive their new 738's? From my understanding they have a lot of slack in their system by using the used fleet. Now they have a new fleet coming on board, which will need to earn it's keep, will they have a large utilisation expansion from their bases?

I'm not quite sure what the situation is, as the poster States 'EK have not applied for any increase at Manchester'.
Looking at advanced copies of the slot reports for S16, Emirates have indeed applied for an increase at Manchester:
Change/ Emirates applies for 4th daily B777-300ER from 01st May 2016 a1535/d1705. All times local.
Also, to accompany this, they have applied for and been granted 56 weekly slots versus the current 42.
Also worth noting that the Air China flights are in there from 25th March, as is a daily Hainan from 1st Sept and Iberia Express daily.

Thanks LAX_LHR for the info.
Certainly hope all you mention above happen. Out of interest does Air China have any times? Be interesting to see if its an afternoon flight like LHR Beijing.

Also worth noting that Air Canada rouge has added back the 6th weekly flight to Toronto after originally only putting the route up as 5 weekly.
This means Manchester-Canada is now at status quo rather than looking like a reduction for next year.
Just Saturday with no flight now.

I am not sure where this information about EK is coming from. They did not apply for an increase at MAN at the time of slot submissions and aren't holding any extra slots now either - three per day is what it is, so 42 slots per week.
