DHL starting "full service" in April would make much more sense.
Is it the case that this was just an additional service to test the route,bed in systems and of course assist with a Christmas overrun ? Let's hope so!

The business focus at MAN is all about passenger flights and supporting bellyhold cargo on these. Dedicated cargo flights sometimes appear to be tolerated rather than encouraged at MAN.
The next big milestone to watch for will be the announcement concerning final route plans for CargoLogicAir, the newly-established UK subsidiary of Air Bridge Cargo (Russia). They revealed tentative plans to launch B744F and later B748F schedules from MAN to the USA by the end of 2015. Their first aircraft is ready and crew training is in progress. But this presents a really interesting conundrum. It is an open secret that this is exactly the sort of operation that MAG are desperate to attract to their expanded cargo facility at STN. And the gentleman responsible for making a success of that STN investment and his counterpart responsible for marketing cargo at MAN share a very interesting relationship indeed. Because they are actually one and the same bloke! So what has been the marketing proposal put in front of CargoLogicAir by MAG? Hold on to your hats ... it shouldn't be long till we find out!

American to use the B787 on the ORD-MAN route next summer. Exact start date to be confirmed but was partly announced at a trade dinner in Dublin.

The B767 will remain on the JFK.
It's hoped that the B787 will remain on the ORD run year round, as the economics of the aircraft are better than the B767 but there are times, including no less than 5 dates already this winter, the B757 isn't adequate enough.

If as you say the Cargologic 747 has indeed appeared at STN is this not a real worry ?
Do you feel this because of a commercial decision by the operator Volga Denepra ?
It just seems very odd as industry media suggested opening new routes direct to importers /exporters in the
N West !
I say this as obviously with STN being MAG owned the benefits of a 747 operation to MAG as a company are transparent whether it operates from STN MAN EMA or BOH ... you might argue they are not bothered!
BUT if you are a freight forwarder in Manchester surely you are very much bothered !!!

Cargologicair haven't as far as I know, ever said where they were going to operate from - it was just speculation by the media possibly based on some inside gen at the time.
I'm sure freight forwarders in the NW won't be too bothered - to use these services, they'll just deliver their freight to one of the transit shed operators at MAN who will consolidate it to get a good rate and truck it down to STN. Just like a considerable volume of freight does now. Adds a bit of time to the transit but that isn't a major consideration most of the time nowadays. And if it's wanted quickly, you have the integrators at EMA.
A study some while ago suggested that the volume of air freight passing through the airport's transit sheds was half as much again as that which actually flew in and out of MAN, the remainder being trucked in and out and never going near an aircraft at MAN. Add to that as well unknown volumes that were going past the door on trucks to be consolidated elsewhere and there's a large amount of airfreight to and from the North of England.
And lots of options available to Northern shippers too about how to send it depending on time and importantly cost. Plenty of belly-hold options from MAN already and more to come, with trucking a viable and cost effective option for other types of freight.
Isn`t their UK operation head office at Stansted, I have thought it very unlikely to start at MAN and not have flights from where there base is

I take it this will mean the end of the AA210/211 and AA054/055 planes "flipping" more days than not due to the fact that they'll be a 767 & 787 respectively?
