Some pax figures quoted on another site included these yesterday for recent new services: Inbound / Outbound
Austrian 95 / 82
Vueling 166 / 161
IBS 173 / 124
They look pretty respectable to me.

AUGUST STATS:
The CAA provisional report is just out and some good LFs on MAN's long haul routes.
The figures are total pax / % change from last year / average load / LF (where calculated)
USA routes:
JFK 28,779 / 192% / 192 / 89.2% (ignores PIA)
ORD 11,356 / 4% / 183 / 87.6%
PHL 13,860 / 1% / 224 / 88.7%
EWR 9,649 / -4% / 156 / 92.1%
IAD 9,258 / -1% / 149 / 88.4%
ATL 14,180 / 10% / 229 / 86.0%
MIA 5,486 / - / 289 / 89.7%
The AA figures included in JFK and for ORD are based on the 209 seat version of the B763, although odd flights may have been the older 218 seat version.
It assumes all flights operated and I hope my calculations where flights are less than daily are correct!
I'll post other long hauls separately to avoid too long a post.

I seem to recall there being some doom and gloom on this thread a couple of months ago regarding LFs on some North American routes? Those all look good to me!

Gatwick launches connecting flights guarantee - Business Traveller
Somewhat innovative or folly ?
Would this work at MAN?

I'd be surprised if IB express went daily over winter.
It was 4 weekly, then down to 3 and now down to 2 after October, so, to ramp that back up to daily would be surprising.
Possibly daily in Summer, and the slots take effect at the back of March?

Manfod - The Singapore Aug figures seem very positive.
Is the aircraft they use on the route equipped with around 280 seats??
If so, then the MAN part of the loading dwarfed the MUC part in August by 3/1.
Is this a consistent pattern? I was (maybe mistakenly) under the impression that the seat allowances were split approx. 50/50 between the two stopping points.
Or maybe there really are quite a number of people using the aircraft just to fly MAN-MUC which may have skewed the figures.
Anyone got any insight?
Thanks

My understanding is that the stats in the CAA Report reflect the number of pax travelling between MAN and Singapore (irrespective of whether they are then flying on somewhere else), and that pax travelling only between MAN & MUN would be included in the MUC figures. However, I'm not certain of that and stand to be corrected.
Is it the 4 class version yet on the MAN flight? If so, seat guru shows 264 seats (4/48/28/184). I think the 3 class version has 278 seats (8/42/228)
So yes, 210 does seem a very high percentage. Maybe it does include MAN-MUC pax but I expect someone can confirm or otherwise. I'll try and see if the CAA report makes it clear in any notes.
Edit: All I could find at a quick look through was this from the Q & A about Airport stats.
"Where can I find passenger numbers between two airports?
We produce two tables in which you can find this information. For international routes, table 12.1, this includes passengers travelling worldwide on a flight either to/from a UK reporting airport".

CAA STATS AUGUST
To add on long haul, I omitted IST. which on another site reckons TK's 3 daily flights averaged 140 pax.
Canada was disappointing in that the largest destination Toronto was down 5%, and although Calgary was up 12%, Vancouver was down the same percentage.
On short haul international, there were significant increases on AMS & DUB, while there were large percentage increases on BCN, MAD, ARN and for the Norway destinations. The new OPO route (3 x weekly?) by EZY carried just over 4,000 pax.

The current IB schedules at MAN really look like gap fillers to be honest, unless something changes hard to see it stay long term. Ryanair are streets ahead with their daily service.

Not sure what happened in August but 5 x weekly showing for rest of this month. Next July has 5 also but possibly a 6th as Saturdays show 'sold out'.

Ryanair have moved their MAN-MAD flights to morning flights.
Iberia Express will go daily on 27th March, so, with their timings, the flights to MAD on an O&D perspective are now much better separated, a day return is almost possible.
With the up coming Vueling expansion, seems our Spanish airlines are giving things a good go!

Schedules seen in work today seem to indicate 8 weekly Cathay Pacific from mid April.
4 weekly B77W as currently operating, but, 4 weekly A350 added too.
Wed, Fri and Sun sees the A350 bring the CX357/358 schedule up to daily, but also an additional Monday evening flight added too, with 1650 arrival and 2015 departure from MAN.
Obviously to be confirmed.

CX, great looks like a civilized flight schedule, morning off HKG, landing MAN late afternoon, home, a couple of beers then bed = less jetlag........ evening off MAN landing HKG mid afternoon, again less jetlag
