Also, I do wonder if Flybe are operating MAN-SEN as a part replacement for MAN-NWI which Flybe will loose after Loganair goes its own way?
MAN codeshares
Maybe I'm being cynical but Southend-Manchester doesn't strike me as an obvious codeshare route. From Manchester the obvious onward connections are to either the USA (against all the competition from Heathrow and Gatwick) or to Ireland (against Ryanair from Stansted). In the reverse direction it would be up against all the existing routes to major European airports from Easyjet, Jet2, and others. Yes you can set up lots of codeshare agreements, but if passengers find they take longer or cost more than a non-stop flight, they tend to vote with their wallets.
So which routes would be obvious codeshares to combine with SEN-MAN ?

Plenty of people travel 'initially in the wrong direction' on routes such as MAN-AMS-USA, so if the price is right, no reason why SEN-MAN-USA/DXB etc couldn't be attractive to someone?
Yes, not going to be huge in numbers, but MAN is starting to pick up as an alternative transit point. Had over 180 pax off a TCX LAS-MAN connecting onto various Flybe flights last week alone.

I don't want to start talking trains because I'll incur the wrath of tophat27dt but, if you're going to fly people from SEN to UK destinations, then the west side of the country makes more sense to me. If you're retired and bored try travelling in the peak from South Essex to cities served from Kings X, then try Euston. You'll find a significant difference.

Have you tried travelling from the North West to essex?
Train is 2 hours (quickest service) to London, plus a 45 min transfer across London (realistic for people unfamiliar with the city) and then a 30-60 min train ride out. So really its 4+ hours minimum public transport.
Drive? Easily 5+ hours with traffic to consider and the M25, M6/M1 nightmare ...
Not all routes are about going to the city centre of London you know ...

Anyone got any idea for what date will they release the DUB flights to purchase online or via their app?
Curious to price compare against all the usual alternatives like Ryanair, BA, Aer Lingus, Cityjet.

Every time I travel the M11 there seems to be some sort of incident that results in a long and tedious delay; in my experience it is worse than going around the M25, but maybe that's because I'm always expecting delays on the M25 anyway. I drove from west to east and from east to west around the M25 on Thursday and, despite the closure south of the Tunnel, I wasn't held up at all (justa s well I chose the northern semi-circle).
Suffice it to say that ground travel between Southend and Manchester is usually a slow and tedious experience. Whether there's sufficient market for a schedule linking SEN and MAN can only be discovered by giving it a go - it will of course require sustained and clever publicity.

NWI-MAN
2016 total passengers 25461 Down 7% on 2015. Number of sectors 1522 per the CAA stats = 17 per flight around 55% load factor
January 2006 passengers - sectors 132 = 15 per flight - 49% load factor
February 2166 sectors 132 = 16 per flight or 52% load factor
March 2661 108 sectors = 25 per flight - why would March have fewer flights?
Source: CAA for the passenger figures and sectors and flybe for the seat-map

23 pax average in April, 73% load factor as per CAA site.
As Oltenpete posts, Quiet in the months after Xmas, but picks up as spring comes, reflects what I experience during the year.
Hopefully demand will be sufficient from Southend!

Makes a change for the destinations page to be updated on the website before they've even been put on sale! Nonetheless some more good news. Perhaps they can put the winter schedule on sale now, might be useful if they want to make some money.

Cologne appears to be dropped altogether which is probably little surprise with the free flight offer. Reus, Perpignan and Venice are also not there for winter, though they could plausibly be seasonal along with Zadar and Dubrovnik. Otherwise all the other city routes carry on.
