Since member "claron" is from Southend, I would have thought he could have worded his message better .. I have just driven back home from Frankfurt and almost fell in the Moselle when I read that! I wonder if the Evening Echo will publish a clarification too.

Or maybe not...
Closed Friday at 105p, closed Monday at 105p, Closed Tuesday at 105p. Seems nobody really cares about an 18% drop at an outlying airport.

When I originally posted that the SEN ATR operation should have a go at BRU I was shouted down due to the Eurostar services. However, with CDG (also being served by Eurostar) off to a good start, I would put money on an ATR operation to BRU doing well.

Looking at CDG ops, the loads on the Friday and Sunday flights look great with the flights being 70-95% loaded. For example, this Sunday the SEN-CDG sector currently has 136 passengers booked on the flight representing a 87% load. The CDG-SEN sector has 116 passengers booked representing a 74% load. The other flights seem ok as well, but have a lower load factor usually, but not significantly lower. But it's still early days yet. I think it will do well.

Just out of interest, do people on here think that the Sea Air flights to Osijek will actually happen? It would be lovely for SEN to gain a new airline, but the whole operation smells a bit like Air Karnten to me and SEN management have not commented on it at all, and it is conspicuous by it's absence on the SEN website.

With less than month until the supposed launch, no announcement by the airport has been made, and I think that probably tells us that they're not confident of it starting. Can't see it being able to compete with FR to be honest.
Saw a nice easyJet advert posted online yesterday.

London Southend Airport has launched a formal consultation for the establishment of Standard Instrument Departure Procedures (SID’s). Deadline for feedback is the 2nd May 2016.
London Southend Airport - Standard Instrument Departure Procedures (Scroll down this page for info. and for links to the relevant documents)
These changes certainly look to reduce the noise impact that the airport has on the surrounding urban areas, particularly Burnham-on-Crouch and eastern parts of Southend.

BTB
Not sure you're 100% right there. City arrivals did not go via BPK when adhering to the old STARs, they should have gone further North-east around Stansted to BRAIN-MAYLA. One of the reasons it was a problem at BPK was because of NATS routinely giving short-cuts to City arrivals from the north-west for the 'LAM snatch'.
