Why oh why do you always bring up Glasgow in oh look 👀 EDI got a new flight at the expense of Glasgow. Oh look a new flight at Glasgow it should have went to Edinburgh. Glasgow will never close it's profitable close to the wealthy Glaswegians in East Renfrewshire & East Dumbartonshire where EDI is not handy at all. Please celebrate new flights but stop having digs at Glasgow. I've seen others ask you also.

GLAEDI You are sad. He was stating a fact, not gloating.
However, I must ask my cousin who lives in East Dunbartonshire, whether he usually uses GLA or EDI. I know he comes through to Ed using the M80/M876/M9.

I am honestly miffed at your accusation.

I don't think it will be too long until EY are back at daily again.
@inOban @GLAEDI
We are lucky in Scotland's Central Belt to have two airports with different strengths within one hour's drive of each other. This means sensible travellers will go to, say, Skyscanner and check the 'Add nearby airports' tab to list the best deals. Simples!

If the route continues to show continuous growth like it has been doing then I don't see why not. The 5 per week suits the circumstances at the moment.

Being five daily means it remains uncompetitve against QR/EK when trying to gain high yield market share. It feels like they're not sure what to do with it. If it's all about great deals for UK comsumer, and it is, it's not doing much for the bottom line.
Reminds me of BA flying GLA-JFK/EWR (yes, they did try both!) thrice weekly whilst NW/AA flew daily. It got them nowhere.

5 daily would be quite something. As to not recalling BA187's Newark phase, summer 92 saw the last Fri-Sun mainline B763 operation shifted to EWR. This was just before G-BNWU arrived and the BHX tag on was launched with a reversion to JFK. For a flag carrier they barely knew their own local market (!)
