Which is basically your way of saying "I've been found out".... Again.
are the one's being 'found out'?
Joe, it works like this: I'm an American living in a small town in the USA... I wish to visit Edinburgh to see the castle, etc. In 2014, I have had a choice from where I live, connect in PHL or EWR, and then non-stop to EDI, or connect in DTW, then LHR and then by air, rail or road to Edinburgh. It wouldn't matter if there were 20 flights a day from various US airports to EDI, there's only one of me, so 19 of them would be flying empty. Multiply that by around 150 tourists and you have one 757 full, and so on. All this sudden increase in EDI flights has nothing to do with a new market suddenly being created; its all about the US airlines getting their low-yielding tourists to EDI off their lucrative LHR flights and putting a few 757s into EDI.

Maybe it would be an idea if you didn't get this thread closed like the last one had to be, Joe.
Are you saying that Edinburgh is a low yielding tourist destination?
Of course I'm not, I'm saying that from an airline's point of view, tourists are low yielding compared to business pax. How could anyone interpret what I said any differently? I'm pretty sure you are the only one

Maybe it would be a good idea if we mentioned the full list of the protagonist responsible?
I realise that it takes two to tango, but you seem to often be at the centre of these arguments. Take a step back. People want the best for the airport, and this doesn't have to be achieved by constantly looking for ways to denigrate the one at the other end of the M8.
With further growth envisaged for next summer, have I missed something regarding stand availability, airbridges, and check in space? I know security and immigration are apparently being dealt with, but to me these are just as important?
Joe - I'm not going to argue with you. I've been a lurker here for years, and one of the reasons I've not been a more active participant is that I simply can't be bothered with the squabbles. I suspect others feel the same.

However - look on the good side most pax in Scotland's central belt live within one hour of both EDI and GLA so the airports are interchangeable in terms of choice of flight. Both managements are competitive so the consumer wins.
I did suggest to Skyscanner they introduce a joint GLA/EDI search designation which would make life much easier but being an Edinburgh-based company they have not acknowledged Weegie brilliance!
(PS: for any knuckledraggers that last sentence was a joke )
