Perhaps this thread might reach the target audience more effectively if posted in the Spotters forum...

Or at least the EDI forum. This hardly warrants its own thread.

Yeah great, lets clog up this section with photo's of every single airliner movement from around the world, we will soon see how bored you get.

As for smart comments, they were merely pointers that there is already a thread for Edinburgh Airport, or, if you like, spotters corner.

Totally agree, in airlines, airports and routes there are as many a "spotter", indeed probably as many a spotter as there are airline/airport professionals.

A difficult job for the mods to decide what is "spot" and what is "info" but I'd suggest that a link to a "spotter" pic, without any reading material provided, is 100% "spotter" and for someone that has made 767 posts then they should know better.

Possible return on Finnair to EDI

Being reported here that EDI bosses are in talks to bring Finnair back to EDI:

Wonder what has changed compared to their last effort ? They had a similar network and OW membership in 2008/9.

The most obvious change has been a change in ownership at EDI which has resulted in a far more competitive and successful commercial environment. Flybe Nordic might be a contender to operate the route with E190s as opposed to A319 before, and hopefully with an increased frequency over what was offered last time.

There are many reasons to be optimistic that Finnair could return to EDI with much greater success this time. If the airline is actively talking to the airport then that is surely an encouraging sign?

Callum, Flybe Nordic don't operate E190s, only ATR42/72, and AFAIK a number of Flybe's E190s are being returned to lessors. More likely Norwegian or Finnair if anyone.

Two things.
1) It's not his picture
2) The gentlemen delights in winding people up and trolling and knew exactly what people would albeit politley, advise.

We must all learn not to feed the troll, he loves the attention too much.

So anyhoo, are they rotating all the transatlantics through gates 3 and 4?

I was advised to go to the Spotters Forum to get the answer you seek.

Qatar

Boeing 787 on flight QR27 just south of Newcastle inbound Edinburgh (12.30).

Well done EDI, a landmark service and a slight hint of jealousy from here in BHX, having BHX-DOH announced twice by the same CEO in the last 8 years yet still nothing Ah well at least a consolation prize of Icelandair announced today.
