Was on a less than half full easyjet flight from STN this week. Feeling they might be suffering badly from some competition :-(

It will add operating costs in the form of extra fuel. Still while the price is low I guess it doesn't matter too much to them. They'll probably raise the fares to compensate anyway. Watch this space.

Turkish Luggage allowance.

I've travelled regularly to Edinburgh from the Middle East since the service started. The luggage allowance from/to here has always been 40kgs in economy. It's really nothing new.

Turkish Baggage Allowance

"The free cabin and checked baggage allowance may vary according to reservation class and departure runway"

In common with other airlines serving the Middle East the luggage allowances are variable and generally more generous than European
carriers. Turkish offer 50kgs luggage allowance Turkey <-> Egypt in economy.

Turkish still isn't the most generous - Saudia offer 46kgs baggage allowance on International flights to Europe in economy.

"Please pay attention that the free baggage allowance is shown on your ticket"

I have 5 tickets from April 2014 RUH/IST/EDI showing 40kgs luggage allowance.

Qatar Airlines Reviews

I'm thinking about using the Qatar Airlines service from Edinburgh for the first time however the reviews I've read for down the back in economy class on their 787s are all pretty terrible.
Has anyone experienced the service for themselves as it would be great to hear straight from the horses mouth. My biggest concern is seat width.
Any comments welcome.

Plenty of room to stretch yourself out apparently.

I haven't flown on the 787 so can't comment on the comfort, but I'm tempted to say - take your own food.

easyJet adds 70,000 extra seats from Edinburgh | The Edinburgh Reporter

Does anyone know if this might mean another aircraft based up there for Easyjet? I am convinced the base could have potential to grow some more.

its just some extra frequencies on existing routes on a relatively slack schedule. No need for any more based units for now.

68500 extra seats over just 2 months has to mean an extra based aircraft IMO as that sort of capacity increase would roughly require 3 extra A320 rotations each day on average. Presumably it heads back South to cover English school holidays after the 21st July. Good expansion from EZY even if it is just short term.

Am currently sitting in the Aspire lounge waiting to depart from Joe Curry International and I must say that security was much, much better than my last visit 'though it does seem surprisingly quiet for Scotland's busiest airport

New member here but I seen the post asking about the QR service. I have used it several times and it is pretty good. Certainly a great new option for those travelling east from Scotland.

Passenger figures up 8.2% for February to 657,386.

Not bad me thinks.

First post here - FR are rumoured to be providing quite a substantial rise in capacity at EDI for W15.
