A chap I know fairly well, commutes every Monday morning to Paris and returns on Thursday afternoon. According to him, the fares on Eurostar are astronomical simply as so many Parisians now live in and around the south east of England. He works for Thales and has moved his family to Hampshire to avoid 80 or was it 85% tax on higher earners in France. He uses Flybe from Southampton, Eurostar, BA or Air France from Heathrow in that order depending upon costs.
With multiple train services per hour from London to the Parkway, means that the journey from London to central Paris via Luton is indeed an alternative for those living around the Captial.

Looking at a random date in June Eurostar are charging £34.50 all in for most departures that day which undercuts the airlines. Or course all that can change as the months pass.
As for Luton's below 1 million passenger total for November. It might explain why the airport has become a pleasant place to pass though again apart from the shuttle bus.

Can't help but think LTN will continue to pick up these random flights and airlines as the LHR debacle goes on for the next 10 years. It all looks very good besides the ridiculous coach situation.

From today
Thameslink – more overnight services for Luton Airport
On Thameslink there will be additional overnight Monday to Saturday services between London and Bedford in December 2015 which will make it much easier to travel to Luton Airport by train for early morning flight check-in.
These will create a twice hourly service in place of the current 60 minute frequency. These additional services are speedier than the existing all-stations trains, running fast between St Albans and West Hampstead.

Northbound there are no gaps and there is indeed two trains an hour through the night but they are not half an hour apart but at alternate 20 and 40 minute spacing.
On Sundays there is nothing between 02:26 and 06:50 then the next train is 07:50 so Sunday mornings is still a write off for rail passengers wishing to get to the airport for the early morning departures although there are plenty of coaches.

Handle without care Shocking video shows baggage handlers at Luton Airport hurling passengers luggage like they were filling up a skip
A total non-story!.......You should see the number of bags etc that fall off the back of overloaded baggage trucks and end up getting collected by other airside traffic! I picked up a large framed picture the other day that had departed company with an Menzies truck.....The bubble-wrap wouldn't have made much difference if it had been driven over!

More to come????
The airport has now released the following statement about Novembers growth that we read here about last week. Also an interesting comment from the CEO about the decision to build a new runway has been delayed. Err what new runway???? I am starting to get the feeling that with the application to the council about a dedicated link to Parkway this £110 redevelopment is just part one of a major project to expand the airport outside its boundary.
850,000 people flew through London Luton Airport (LLA) last month, an increase of 23.6% compared with the same period last year, this marks 20 months of consecutive growth in passenger numbers for the airport.
In light of continued passenger demand, LLA is currently undergoing a £110m development project to increase annual capacity from 12 million to 18 million.
The project will deliver major upgrades to the airport’s facilities, including:
A complete redesign of the terminal to create a quick, efficient, friendly and convenient passenger experience.
Doubling of the existing retail space, introducing exciting shopping and dining options.
A new multi-storey car park with 1,700 spaces.
The addition of Oyster card services through to the terminal building.
Works already completed include a relocated and expanded security search area featuring the latest screening technology, the £1million refurbishment of the executive lounge and the airport has also benefitted from major improvements to junction 10a of the M1. This month will also see improved rail services commence with the addition of overnight trains between St Pancras International and Luton Airport Parkway.
Nick Barton, CEO of LLA, said: “20 months of consecutive growth at LLA shows that demand in the South East and in LLA is at record levels. Whilst the decision to build a new runway has been delayed the need for more sustainable capacity hasn’t, that’s why we’ve already begun our £110million redevelopment increasing capacity from 12m to 18m – 2016 will be an exciting year for us as the transformation takes shape.”

I see the airports flight tracker is now picking up Luton inbounds as soon as they hit UK airspace, didn't it used to only be below FL10?

La Compagnie Schedule
The La Compagnie Schedule is not looking too good over the coming six weeks...
In January it looks like the route is down to two flights a week, on a Monday and Thursday and there is also no flights at all over the Christmas period between the 25th-31st December.
It then goes up to 5 flights a week in February...

Since they are focused on Business PAX wouldnt the festive time of year/new year etc be a slow period. All the money men and execs taking their extended holiday breaks. Just an assumption of course.

Things do go rather quiet over the holiday period as you have just said for the ““siuits““ and most schedules in January and early February are curtailed by many airlines. I would not put too much into the reductions personally.

The following article from November quotes the owner as saying the flights are 80% full on average and they have ordered two new aircraft - not sure if those are the two in use or another two ? http://www.luxurylondon.co.uk/article/ny-lon-in-style-la-compagnie
