In August 2014, 4419 passengers flew the route. But in August this year 10588 passengers flew the route, marking a 139.6% increase in numbers.
The route seems to operate daily in each direction, offering 11,160 seats on a Wizzair A320 with 180 seats. That works out to be a whopping average load factor of the 94.87%!

It is an incredible total but with Easyjet looking to increase passenger levels and the increase in 'current routes' 2016 will be very hi-lighting?
I predict 12.6 million for the year 2016.
From 2017 the airport will be looking at a 'modest' 5% anneal passenger increase to achieve 18 million by 2026.

i thought Ryanair's Copenhagen base has already been closed a couple of months now.
This means that if RYR did switch the route to STN right now it would only mean the loss of one rotation to LTN as the based aircraft would just do something else instead.
How the (imminent?) RYR frequency increase on LTN-CPH will be carved out I haven't figured - but using existing down-time on LTN based aircraft would not be unreasonable in the winter.

I'd love to know the total number of movements (not just ATMs) for September, as that month always sees a rise in corporate movements compared to August

For 2014 the busiest month was June with an average of 338 movements per day.
July saw 332
Aug saw 319
Sept saw 322
The busiest day of the year was on May 23rd with 401 aircraft movements

Redevelopment weekly update
The last part of Signatures former offices came down this week.
The kerbing for eight and a half bus bays have been laid in the former priority parking and taxi rank area.
The blue lines show the kerbing so far laid. The seven bays to the left will sit across the existing bus station while the bottom two will cross the service road to the underground service area which will eventually be closed. I would love to know how they intend to build the bays across the existing bus station while keeping the buses moving. Also site access will be required to build the terminal extension to the rear of the first seven bays.
As can be seen the bus station has a very small maneuvering area where buses will have to reverse and then cross in all directions to exit the site. To me it seems like an accident waiting to happen.
Artists impression from the drop off area looking across the yet to be built taxi rank and bus station. I love these artists impressions showing the terminal on Christmas Day. In reality the taxi rank will be choked with around 60 triple parked taxis. The drop off area will be congested and the bus station will be heaving.
The new exit road from the drop off area is starting to be dug out by taxiway delta.

15.3% catch a bus or coach while 17.2% catch the shuttle bus to the station although the shuttle bus won't be using the nose in bus bays but the long bay on the left. Also there are the buses to the car hire centre, the mid term and long term car parks and I guess the charter coaches that at the moment park by the drop off area.

All private off airport parking companies will actually be using a barrier controlled lay-by next to the new drop off area so they won't come into the bus station.

I see last year that Luton passed the 1 million passengers per month for the 3 summer months of June, July and August. This year Luton can add May and September. It was only 10,271 passengers short for April with 989,729

I wouldn´t be surprised if this October also passes the one million mark, what with the Rugby World Cup charters and also the three charter flights to Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix adding to the total.
