I saw on the El Al UK Facebook page a while back one irate El Al passenger make a complaint, later converted to an official complaint, after waiting over 90 minutes for his bags.
I don't know how much the airport values El Al's presence at Luton but I got the impression they saw it as a bit of a "trophy" carrier and it must be a worry for the airport if a full-service airline is receiving such poor service from the ground handlers.
They are perfectly capable of providing a good service if the airline pays for it. Last summer Swissport/Servisair employed a young man named Jon who was great and really enthusiastic but I don't think he was there this summer.

Oh you poor thing Cloud1 suicidal because of a wait for bags and flooding problems so it took you a far longer time than you expected. That is the problem with people in the UK today everybody thinks it will all work just like that 24 hours a day seven days a week and nothing can possibly go wrong like the car not starting one morning - what shall I do! Think yourself lucky how about the BA passengers leaving Heathrow for Europe last week and finding no luggage on arrival at their destination.

Definitely not management. I would be hacked off as well, had it happened to me at Gatwick, but surely not suicidal tendencies. Sorry to be pedantic but it is METRES - meters are for seeing how much gas and electric you have used and paying for car parking!
Back to real aviation matters a number of extra Israel flights today - Jewish New Year - so expect some more later in the week with Yom Kippur just round the corner. Also a number of football related charters.

EasyJet growth at LTN
@Itchin McCrevis,
During 2014 EasyJet had 15 A/C. This year they have 18, next year will be 19 can you see the growth in aircraft fleet at LTN?
25 A/C each on average operating 7 rotations each day over 364 days at average load might scrape to achieve the planned 9 million pax per annum at minimum? What ever the fleet growth it has to be higher than 25?
Either way I welcome their growth at LTN.

Don't forget the new Wizz order for 110 A321's that will replace much of their fleet. At 230 seats each they could keep their present movements at Luton and still have more seats available.

Wizzair have today announced that the Warsaw route will increase to 26 times a week, which works out to be four flights a day on most days of the week from May...
All of these are A320 flights in May... However when you check September two of the four flights a day have been upgraded to A321, adding an additional 54 seats on each on these flights, in each direction.
Additionally, just taking another look at their booking engine shows three of the five Budapest flights are also being upgraded to the A321, but this is showing for May.
The airline is truely upgading the capacity on these routes and not cutting back on frequencies, just because they are using a larger aircraft.
Just the Warsaw and Budapest routes alone, by upgrading to the A321 will add 540 extra seats a day, when you take into account these flights operating five times a day there and back!
(I only checked these two routes, there might be even more A321's next year from other Wizz bases?!)

With mass migration to the UK continuing I can't see why 4 returns a day doesn't eventually become 6 returns a day or more as the demand is clearly there.

I think some of those stands are set to be squeezed a little like the 6 stands on the eastern apron will become 8 stands with just a few feet added to the width of the apron. The hangar line is also going to be remarked up.
I have seen that list produced by pabely before although I can't find it now but I thought aircraft are given a code to denote their size and so is the stand. Even Luton's own publications talk about code C aircraft being most prevalent at Luton.

Redevelopment weekly update
The apron fronting Signature hangar 65 has now been also fenced off and has become landside as works starts to demolish this second hangar. With the loss of this apron and part of the North West Corner the engine run up bay was pressed into service as an additional apron with 7 biz jets parked there on Thursday.
Easyjet’s former HQ together with land opposite the Ibis Hotel has been pressed into service as a temporary storage facility for Priority Parking. Up until now they have used part of the short term car park that is the closest to taxiway Delta. This strip of land by the fence is set to become the exit route from the drop off zone and the entry route to the short term and multistory car park. As of Friday most of the cars in this area and the staff car park by the south apron have left so work should be starting soon on this new road.
A temporary alternate route has been created from the drop off area to the terminal via the old taxi rank. As yet no permanent work has taken place in the CTA
A general view taken last week before work started in the area around the new bus station.

LTNMAN.
Am I wrong to think that something will have to give at LTN with all the airline expansion as the quieter landing slots used by bizz jets and stands at present get filled with airliners.
Biz jets will get squeezed out..it that the likely scenario ?

As the years have passed light aircraft disappeared from the Luton scene and I suspect that biz jet traffic will end up being reduced due to a lack of parking at some point in the future unless new aprons are built just for them but Signiture is showing its commitment to Luton and must have had discussions about Luton's future plans before spending millions on its new FBO. Also while stands 16 and 17 go back to Luton next year if the airport don't require them then they can still be used for biz jets except the airport would get the parking fees.

It's not just Warsaw flights that Wizz are growing next summer. In recent weeks they have announced:
From 27th March Sofia will increase from 18 to 21 per week
From 20th May Bucharest will increase from 21 to 26 per week
From 20th May Timisoara will increase from 5 to 7 per week
From 13th May Warsaw will increase from 23 to 26 per week.
