If BA do launch BHD LGW I'd safely say EI will axe it. Furthermore, with BE going into BHD LCY this will bring additional capacity to the route.
If BA are looking at this route for connecting pax, seems odd, as EI now do codeshare and plenty of capacity on the route as loads are in the 80's. I'd be surprised to see it to be honest ..

Why would they just axe it...after increasing it from a319 to a320... They are embedded in the route...ba would need to be going in below cost to compete...and why would willie do that?

My point is the competition was so intense opposite Flybe, if they hadnt axed the route EI would have bowed out. The last remaining route to be lauched onto the summer schedule this year was BHD LGW and it was late being loaded, it didnt materialise until BE confirmed there plans. Any changes here could tip the balance. It would however largely depend on the schedule that BA were offering.
EI wouldnt wage a war on this route opposite BA, simples. Be a different case if it was Dublin LGW.

The ex-BMI 321s operated out of BHD before, while in their old colours. They had some modification made to the brakes (I think something in software rather than any physical changes), but then operated quite happily.
I think they may also have required brake fans to assist cooling on the short turn around due to high brakes temps generated during rollout. BA's A321's operate into ABZ so as you say they are well capable of handling BHD.

LGW-LAS flights from December to March have been cancelled and passengers will be transferred to the LHR-LAS flights.
Flights from LHR-FNA/ROB have been suspended until the end of August, at the moment, due to public health concerns.

Just curious to know if anyone knows if BA are planning any more new routes from Gatwick next Summer. I know several new routes to places such as Bodrum, Rhodes, Fuertventura, Friedrichshafen, Grenoble, Dalaman, Crete and Cagliari have already been announced, but in last couple of years they have announced others at fairly short notice.
As I have said elsewhere Catania could see an increase with the withdrawal of Air One. Also from a personal point of view Paphos flights always seem heavily booked at 5 times weekly. Maybe a return to daily could be possible? Already flights quite highly priced for next May and June.
Further on short haul is there much chance of Las Palmas, Funchal or Palma making a come back? Also Madrid still missing as an IAG hub, although I know it is well served by others from LGW.
On long haul I still see scope for the Seychelles especially as their is a plan to increase capacity at British Airways Holidays. There was a debate on LGW-Bangkok recently on several forums but that seems to have gone away!! Maybe as more 787s are delivered, plus some A380s and later the A350S more 777s will be available. Interesting times ahead.

Expansion in the Caribbean could also be on the cards (although either could go to VS) -
St Vincent would love a service to London, even if a tag on - tourist board are talking about a Winter 15/16 start date...
Grenada - likewise, they are after a direct service to London.

If we are speaking of nice to haves, a resumption of a daily flight to Malaga would be good. I managed to catch a weekend flight from LHR two weeks ago and it was full to the gills with ten rows in Club Europe. GB Airways used to run twice daily during the franchise and I dread the commute through Barajas or the taxi around the M25 getting to Heathrow.

I am well aware of the four daily flights from Gatters, a more or less daily flight to LCY and the weekend service to LHR. If, like me, you want to connect to BA Long haul, it's a minimum 4 hour connection, including waiting for an hour for baggage at Gatwick and and hours taxi ride (in reality less) to T5. What's wrong to wish for a direct connection daily and year round. There are plenty of people connecting when I took the flight 2 weeks ago, including myself coming from CPT.
Thanks

A British Cruise Company has just announced some luxury cruises departing from Seville's Port for summer season 2015 (from June until October).
This touroperator works with BA and uses BA routes to airports such us NCE, AGP, ATH, IST, VCE & AMM in Europe to carry passengers to ports.
As SVQ will be added to the network from SS15, it will be the only airport non-served by BA. And I don't really think they will be using EZY/RYR flights for customers paying £3,000 for a week cruise.
We will see, how they manage...
Rgds.

But isn't it a bit weird... BA is not serving three major Spanish cities (airports) such as BIO, VLC & SVQ?
BIO - Such a great business demand. Most european airlines flies from there to their hubs (KL, AZ, LH, IB, TP, SN, AF, EI, TK, DY...). BA is not on the list. Why?
VLC - Third largest city in Spain. Interesting tourist spot and busy airport, with great demand to the UK. Comparable with LYS in France or NAP in Italy. Again, BA is not operating there. Why?
SVQ - Fourth largest city in Spain, and third most visited. Great tourist destination itself, but it also serves beaches and resorts in Western Andalusia. 3 daily flights in high season to LON, but... none of BA. Why?
And the most strange thing... BA does serve GRX from LCY year round with load factors down to 40% in the winter months!

^^ Rubbish service and poor connections opportunities at LHR. Well for leisure travelers who prefer VY instead of U2 (or LHR instead of STN) in point-to-point demand, but IAG's BIO-LON service is not focused on business demand as LH, AF, SN, TK or KL are at BIO.
Businessmen avoid VY as soon as they can...
