This was one of the aircraft that came back from desert storage at Victorville. Never been the same since apparently!

747 Ferry to Victorville

That must be an interesting trip with the aircraft totally stripped out, the lightest it has ever been since its Boeing test flights, and only 2 or 3 crew. Climb out and fuel consumption at cruise must be dramatically different.

BAng: British Airways Plane Hits Hangar

Seems that not long after writing off a B744 with a wing through a building, they've managed to do it again! B777 versus Cathedral Hangar. Let's see who wins!

Are BA re registering its LGW based Airbus fleet? I noticed one this morning registered G-GATJ.

I wondered if this is one of the old BMI fleet?

No. They are leasing used A320 aircraft as replacements for the 737-400s at LGW.

There are ex BMI aircraft at LGW in the BA fleet. They have not been re-registered.

Don't BA clean their cabins?

Owen Thomas films 'grimy conditions on board first class British Airways flight | Daily Mail Online

That won't go down well with the travelling public.

Nowadays, this kind of action is the only way to get action. The greatest majority of large companies have cut back so far on the basics that standards have fallen.

BA CC and lower mgmt should be really grateful that someone has done this so as to be able to 'kick' middle and senior mgmt and their penny pinching ways.

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty common. You just have to lift out the tray tables in First or Club and look in the slot - it will have the remnants of many meals inside. To be honest, I'm not sure what they can do about it with the seat designs. I can't see how it would be practical to remove all the tables and 'deep clean'. I've always turned a blind eye to that on the basis that if the seat itself is clean and the food served hygienically - c'est la vie...
It may be First but it's still public transport.

Unclean Cabins

This is really a case of OCS not doing their job properly and BA not ensuring that OCS have done their job properly! If you see what I mean , and strake the tables in Club don't lift out, they fold down!

BA should rotate all aircraft through Japan they would end up spotlessly clean after the passengers disembark

The worst I have ever seen was in the First cabin with old style seats where a very famous song writer had sat. On arrival the area looked as if a group of chimps had been given six bags of assorted garbage to play with for six hours

There's the problem in a nutshell, it affects all big businesses and public services: too many unproductive managers, not enough staff to do the work.

Gotta disagree, a lot of companies are well managed, they have to be. BA have loads of front line staff to do the work, they're just on some of the least productive industrial agreements outside of Air France!!!!

Most airlines now outsource functions like cleaning, loading etc to the cheapest bidder...
