BA IRL/LHR flights

Today is the change to T5. Does anyone know if pax from IRL arriving at T5 will be permitted to walk out unmolested as it was at T1 or will they now have to join a long queue? BA info desks did not have an answer to this question when asked.

BA Irl flights

Passengers will arrive on an international gate. However they will bypass UK immigration and go straight into the international customs hall.

DUB and BHD did very well for bmi, not a slot filler as far as I can see.

Considering BA spend 100s of thousands of pounds in the BHD business lounge at the beginning of the year it definitely is not just a slot filler

BA Irl flights

Plan is for ground staff to meet arriving passengers at gate 23.
They will then escort them through a new corridor which takes
The passengers to the rear of immigration allowing them to access
The customs hall.

B737-436 G-DOCN.

The above mentioned is cover aircraft at LGW for the next few days before being stood down. I remember I was on my initial B737-3/4/5 course at VHA in 1993 when the instructor took us over to the apron to peruse this particular aircraft which had arrived from Renton on it's delivery flight.

Hasn't been mentioned on here, but I see another 734 has been recently donated (and flown into) Cranfield University.

BA has announced today 2 daily flights LHR – BIO as from 29 March 2015 (A320/A319).

Does anyone know where are these slots coming from?

Given that Bilbao is unlikely to support 4 daily rotations, presumably BA are going to be using the current Vueling BIO slots.

A380 announced to operate to MIA 2x daily from Winter 15. Unsure whether this will carry on to Summer 16.

Few terminal changes from Winter 15 inc. MIA, LAS and CPT which will move across from T5 to T3. Also, some other terminal changes as expected from T1.

BA IRL/LHR flights

Just to confirm spacedog's prediction for pax arriving from DUB. Gate 23 and along a corridor (no escort, though ), down the escalator, through Blue Customs and out - a matter of minutes. Terrific stuff.

Having used A319's for a long, long time they're using an A320 on the first flight, at least, with some nice new, comfy furniture onboard.

Interesting that they are developing the short haul routes from LHR a lot next year. Where are they finding the slots from?

It was one of yesterday's flights that was delayed overnight so operated with a different call sign.

Goodbye 'Lima Golf

Another BA 744 retires tomorrow, when 'BNLG arrives back from its last trip, to Accra. Due into LHR at around 5.15am tomorrow morning, 7 Dec, presumably will then be ferried to CWL to have interior removed, before the long trip to Victorville ...

'BNLG was delivered in February 1990 and as at 31 Dec 2013, had 97,655h, so almost certainly over the 100k mark now.
