flynas service is cancelled
Flynas need to be aggressively targeting the ethnic travel agents, Umrah and Hajj specialists whilst also co-ordinating their schedules and connections. Right now Pakistan-UK over Jeddah "not the most transit friendly of places" and available in one direction only is of little use.

Incidentally at Gatwick they also appear less than reliable and for the last two weeks only the Thursday flight has actually operated.

I think this venture is likely short lived.

Hi,

Does anybody know the reason for an additional Etihad departure last night at around 22:30? EY8028 A333 A6-AFF. EY22 departed as normal.

Thanks

Might be over already - a few dummy bookings showing all flights operated via Abu Dhabi on Etihad. Would explain Etihad's sudden jump in capacity.

I have done dummy bookings in July and August and direct flights show okay for Wednesday and Friday however there are some non ops on the Sunday flights.

The Sunday may well be because it directly competes with Saudia

Just done a few in August - got some direct and some via AUH. Either way it's inconsistent; agree with LAX-LHR that Saudi is easily winning the battle.

Ive tried a few dates right through to September, and getting flights every Wed and Fri, and 99% of Sundays barring 1 or 2 dates. Therefore, all seems fine at present.

The Etihad Codeshare is for every day on EY21/22 and has been so for about 12-18 months, so does not cause concern just yet. However:

agree with LAX-LHR that Saudi is easily winning the battle.
I do give the route about 8-12 months. Saudia seem to be reporting strong figures, both passenger and cargo wise. With Flynas seemingly struggling all indications seem to show there is demand for MAN-JED, just not as much as we are seeing, and something will have to give, and based on figures so far, that something in my eyes is flynas.

I take it you mean A330s, if so I believe not as almost all long haul is being done out of Manchester but plans may change

SVA061 diverting in after holding over the North Sea. Saudi 772 from Jeddah-Toronto HZ-AKH. 2 Saudi will be on the ground at MAN as HZ-AKI operated normal SVA123 still at MAN.

speaking of SV, they carried 4431 passengers in the 1st month of restarted operations to Jeddah. Averages about 170 per flight according to my abacus.

Speaking of CX, anyone else heard that the cargo flights are going by the end of May?

Might be a silly question but anyone know why? Is there really no profit left in it? A bit surprising considering the upgrade to B748 recently.

Looking at the cargo availability, I wonder if CX are pulling all UK cargo ops, can only get the B777's at LHR too with no cargo flights showing there from June.

I suppose at least our passenger flights start in December, at a higher frequency than the cargo ones.

On the flip side will be strange not seeing a Cathay tail at MAN for 7 months given they have been a regular feature for so long. It also shows our all cargo flights continue to take a battering with just Lufthansa and FedEx our now only 2 all cargo flights......
