I like some of the things that bmir are saying, and it does seem that they are developing a business plan for going forward, which has got to be good.
I can't say that I'm overly inspired with the first two new routes, though.
1. An international route that is being abandoned by another carrier;
2. A domestic route that would seem to have Flybe written all over it. If they have not taken it on with the economics of a Q400, then I'm not sure how the EMBs will do.
But I wish them good luck, and I hope to be using their flights for many years to come.

Interesting, and not totally unsurprising move;

I believe this now gives the Bonds a controlling interest in Loganair and ownership of bmiR....

This is indeed interesting.
If the Bond Brothers do now have a controlling stake in Loganair perhaps they will be making a move to if not merge, but significantly allign BMIr and Loganair.
Perhaps even starting with seperating Loganiar from Flybe and utalising the new BMi call centre and ticketing at East Midlands.
At least then monies are not being paid to Flybe for essentially a service they can get in house.
Just my two cents anyway.

Just to correct the above, I don't know about BRS-ABZ direct, but the flight via LBA is relatively new....BRS-LBA is what remains of the old WOW route which went on to PLH/NQY and Eastern inherited.

Grumpy cabin crew, most likely the last of the mainline mob waiting for their BA airbus course start date, they are dying to get off the jungle jet and probably hate it more than you do! The EMB can be a bit pokey on the ground, agreed, much nicer up in the cruise at 370 though! Its not a bad little machine and beats the pants off any noisy turbo prop. If you do fly with us again I am sure you will have a better experience.

Going back a few posts you'll find this comment on the EMB cabin size:
"Funnily enough, most regional aircraft are fairly small but once you are sat in your seat is there really that much difference on a 50 minute flight?".
Had friends who flew from SFO to MAN a while back. SFO to LHR was on a Virgin B747, LHR to MAN was on a BMI Regional EMB. They said that the legroom was better on the EMB!

no axe to grind with BMI Regional ... hope they make a go of it..
As a regular commuter from London to Scotland I was just comparing products.. I think most of the passengers were expecting the usual Airbus as it was advertised as a BA flight. Maybe I caught the cabin crew on a bad day the flight was delayed due to weather and ATC.

in one media release I looked at it says by the end of 2013 they will look at aircraft to replace the 145's and 135's , if they will still be around by then, what could they look at? EMB 170's/75? Jets would be too big for them! or maybe the new C-series or ATR 72-600's?
