official announcement is tomorrow but I see it's already on some press sites. I think that the AL senior managers should apply to go on the junior apprentice show, they'd all be off after week one though. These are also the people who are organising the opposition to the FR take over attempt, go on Mick me boy.

Larry

You are spot on. Tomorrow AL will announce LHR LGW and number of Euro routes for next summer. LHR and LGW start in November. Believe the crew briefings are in the airport hotel at BFS around the same time, will they be able to maintain the same number of crew as they currently employ in the short term.

"this place" or Belfast city airport as most people call it was a fair way off the cap with ww there and they claim to have lost nearly half a million pax with their withdrawal so I'd say there is a fair way to go.

Victoria.....sorry, Airport66, BHD is still well below its cap, as Mart correctly points out. A more pertinent question (though your post was a statement, not a question) is, what is going so badly wrong at BFS that another airline has decided (rightly or wrongly....time will tell) to leave Neaghside International and go down the road?

Any thoughts?

It seems incredible to me that if BFS offered the same T&Cs as BHD that an airline would go to the time, expense and bother to move to another airport twelve miles away (as the EI A320 flies).

Nice one ei-bud! Personally I reckon what drives airlines to move is both airports suffer the same problen and they believe moving to BHD will bring them closer to the customer. It will take a few years losses to deliver at either airport imho.

Not sure there is anything badly wrong, it is just a different strategy whereby BFS ride the Easy cash cow and can't/won't compete with the free deals offered by BHD who are so desperate for airlines that they have chosen the tactic of trying to pilfer airlines at any cost while trying to make money through parking/footfall in the terminal.

Any thoughts?
Plenty

I agree, except that BFS won't have tried to match the offer, they can't afford to for various reasons, not least the worry of having to offer EZY the same terms (seriously better for them if EI leave in that case)

I believe the deal that BHD offers really cuts their own throat in order to get some route/airline expansion. Any airline has to consider a big Zero on fees for three years very seriously even if they have to live with the City's numerous restrictions

If you click on "Book Now" on the EI website. Then look through the list of airports under "From" Belfast City should be there. It's showing as BHD (BHD).
