See menzies aviation are looking for staff for BHD.........seems slightly crazy to me for 6 flights day?.............When they dispatch the 6.45 to LGW and the 7.15 to LHR what will they be doing for the next 3.5 hours until the planes arrive back? Maybe they will be enticing BE to change handling agent
They have also asked the staff at BFS if they want to switch to BHD as well, seems to be a bit of interest too by all accounts!

Any more news as to which other EU routes EI plan to launch, also what are the chances of EI getting their own air bridge at BHD?

Cannot see which routes EI or EL will try
With their three aircraft for summer it's LHR, LGW and the two bucket and spade routes to AGP and FAO....cannot see them bringing in a fourth aircraft
EI I don't think can compete with BE and EZY on the main domestic routes, only possibility is EMA, but maybe jet2 will look at that from BFS

On another issue I think EL will be lucky if they can achieve 16K pax per months on LHR and same for LGW, even with these figures it's probably only 60% load factor

Would welcome views

I don't think they would need a 4th aircraft, they would just need to reduce Malaga and faro, I think a daily flight is a bit much

Daily flights to agp and fao for EI this summer were packed. Apparently bookings so far for them routes next summer are very good also. Not convinced about the lgw and lhr routes though

Agp and FAO probably their best options. I can see jet 2 coming in and offering three weekly flights to FAO and AGP, and possibly reinstating BCN on opposite days to EZY service to BCN

Belfast City-Summer 2013-EI

I have heard that ALC or PMI could be added to the summer schedule. Expected to be slotted in on a Tue, Thu, Sat by dropping up to 2 LGW Saturday rotations makes sense for summer months and one rotation to either AGP or FAO on Tues and Thur but one of those could see two rotations dropped.

Bookings are doing well on AGP and FAO for next summer..

BHD2BFS, I doubt EI will get an airbridge anytime soon, costs a few hundred thousand that BHD won't want to spend after last years profit and I'm not too sure EI would invest in one

Somebody said a few months ago that BHD planned to add extra gates down towards the ikea side, does anyone know if this is still going ahead? How many more would they need?
BA - 1
EI - 3
Manx2 - 1 (do they still base at BHD?)
BE - 7/8

So BE is going to readjust 1 BHD-SOU flight so it can operate SOU-DUS as well!?

Flight to DUS via somewhere doesn't count. That's like saying BA are introducing routes from BHD to a zillion places via Heathrow.

It does when the passengers don't have to disembark and their bags stay onboard, it will be the same as ext/cdg

I don't know if its been noted but Aer Lingus has increased Belfast City - London/Gatwick flights from 3 to 4 daily (Mon-Fri & Sun) with 3 daily on a Sat, beginning March 2013. Forward bookings must be positive?

Well spotted Jack, looks like EI29/EI28 will be operated by a LGW aircraft then? Certainly not a BHD based airframe.

I'd say it will be operated by the BHD aircraft. 4 rotations a day for the BHD aircraft is probably what they will do...no need for the LGW aircraft

It would be very tight time wise allowing for 1.20 hr flight and 30 min turnaround
EI normally have 40mins at least for turnaround

4th LGW S13

On the schedule currently published online by EI , the 4th service on LGW
can't be operated by a BHD based a/c.

The rotations are as follows....

A/c 1 ( A320)
BHD/FAO 0630/0930
FAO/BHD 1010/1310
BHD/AGP 1350/1805
AGP/BHD 1845/2050

A/C 2 (A319)

BHD/LHR 0730/0900
LHR/BHD 0950/1110
BHD/LHR 1315/1435
LHR/BHD 1515/1635
BHD/LHR 1720/1840
LHR/BHD 1920/2040

A/C 3 (A319)

BHD/LGW 0645/0810
LGW/BHD 0850/1015
BHD/LGW 1115/1240
LGW/BHD 1315/1440
BHD/LGW 1530/1655
LGW/BHD 1730/1855

The 4th frequency on LGW is scheduled for
LGW/BHD 1855/2015
BHD/LGW 2050/2210

This rotation doesn-t flt on a BHD based A/C.

Also this 4th rotation ,makes the BHD/LGW/BHD schedule much more competitive against BE. without it the last BHD/LGW wud be 1530 and the last LGW/BHD 1730.
I doubt its anything to do with forward bookings . The service hasn-t even started yet and Domestic services are very late booking and the LGW service will be especially so as longhaul connections ( which do book earlier ) will not be a major part of this route .

It's good to see flight times that will suit the business traveller. But does NI really need 12 daily flights to LGW and to be quite honest I can't see there being an obvious loser from this. All 3 airlines will just fly a route that is not profitable to any of them because to be quite honest I can't see flybe or easy stepping down. EI flying to STN or EIR flying to LCY would have made more sense

LCY didn't work for Cityjet, would it work now?
