The Air Ambulance is running out of LBA due to the helicopter being crewed by multiflight Pilots so it's cheaper to have it based down there rather than keep it here and pay for taxis hotels etc not sure how long for as it's due to stay in H3E which has been cleared

Thank you Bobster. As a matter of interest do you known whether Michael Owen actually flew this aircraft when he owned it or did he hire in a driver?

Being as he is always injured then likely he used it constantly . Anyhow it's unlikely that he is ever to be in need of using DTV

Who's next?

I wish Kerry all the best in the future at CWL and I am sure she is looking forward to working at a major International airport but who will replace her? Please please Peel, appoint someone with experience and history in the aviation industry. A little like Middlesbrough F.C, now's not the time for rookies.

Having said that, I'm sure employees at WH Smith, Avis et al are being sounded out for the post!!

Good luck Cardiff! Was this a jump before she was pushed.

I see the buldozers have moved in and removed building 48 from beside hangar 3 ready for the air ambulance's new offices.

As someone committed to the development of CWL should I conisder this to be good or bad news for CWL?

I dip into this thread now and again as we used to have WW in common and some of the comments I have read have not been 'positive'!!!

She must be brilliant at interviews. How she made the paper sift with DTV on her CV I will never know. Just read the Press Release on the airport website.........WOW wish she wasn't leaving, this is the person to lead the airport forward surely.

Some interesting names on the shortlist to be new Airport Director. The favourite seems to be someone from Nigeria who has a good CV which includes airline startups. His name is Victor Bassey. I was also talking to a man at the recycling depot who says that one of their staff has an interview and is very confident as he deals in s**t all day and everyday.

quote from airport official website :-
Her time as Airport Director has coincided with a period of unprecedented upheaval for the entire air travel industry and it is very much to her credit that Durham Tees Valley has weathered the storm and is now moving forward again.
.
I guess "Ms Q" must have had some editorial input in this as I doubt there are many others who would condone this view!
To those reading this who have even the slightest concern as to the future of CWL "BEWARE !!"

Isn't there still a MME vs WW court case outstanding?

Do Cardiff want to keep one of their major customers sweet?

As per the news reports, DTVA will be open from 0700 local and providing AFS Cat 8. Hopefully we can pick up some heavies!!

Is there a site or something where any diversions coming in can be tracked towards MME before the airport website updates things 5 hours later and we might miss the A380's coming in!

I don't know if there is going to be an official press release but I thought I would like to congratulate DTVA on cancelling the least number of flights of any airport in England. Sterling work chaps and very well done.

How is the number of cancelled flights anything to do with MME. It's all down to the position of the ash cloud, and airline decsions on when to restart flights
