It underlines the miserable performance of the so called Management Team at Teesside. The bread and butter for any small regional airport has always been charters but they forgot that and went for a " bit of bling " with scheduled lo co's. They neglected the charters and they moved on. We are now left with mini bus flights in the British Isles and still the Management Team hang on. For the life of me I can't work it out.

However many passengers were onboard, it was more than DSA who only had 6 (not sure whether that was inbound or outbound). I hope it improves for them!
Ryanair
anyone know how many were on the first Ryanair flight today??
on another note when does DTV start closing overnight-think I heard it was April 1st-or was that a joke?? Will that have an effect on the MOD flights that have been operating overnight through here?
nice to see the Dublin getting off to a good start!!

Hi
Dont know how many passengers where ment to be on the first ryanair of the summer scheduled Alicante route this morning, But i do know one thing for sure the pax would not have been happy with a bus ride to West Yorkshire
As it was in-fact diverted into Leeds/Bradford due to the poor weather at Durham Tees Valley this morning.

I think it was about 165 pax to Alicante this morning. 181 booked on Thursday and 181 on Saturday. Not bad at all I think... pity about this morning. The only problem is that it seems lots of people come back to other airports as the inbound figures are much less.... that is the timing for you..

Good pax figures for the ALC flights but, in saying this, I think there would be something seriously wrong if cheap flights to the Benidorm area from Teesside did not work!
As for the timings, I am sure this proves an issue when comparing to NCL and LBA-ALC flights but, as I have said previously, I suspect this will be the last summer of FR at MME anyway.
Why have Eastern cancelled the mid morning ABZ rotations recently? Lack of traffic or tech issues?

Re. DSA, average of 20, remember it is early days and probably depends on how many are connecting with EI long-haul...
Try working out yields over loads, i wont hold my breath... Remember it isnt 'lo-co'.

No joke on the closures, they are happening as the airport is now 0600-2200 operation although I heard management are expecting atc staff to show good will and swap onto night shifts to cover. Surely these military flights must have been known about last month when the decision was announced to close at night?
Or maybe just another case of poor management trying to screw over the workforce?

I think what is more surprising is that they were open H24 in the first place. How many movements did they actually get in the middle of the night? Sounds like a very poor use of resources to me.

I see that Crawford Rix is leaving bmi baby. He is the person who pulled baby out of Teesside. Any chance of baby returning I wonder?

Does anyone know why the Great North Air Ambulance which is based at Teesside is actually being run out of LBA. Apparently it will be ferried up every day at 8am and returned at night to LBA. It can't be anything to do with access or security because the Cleveland Police Helicopter operates from Teesside with a 24 hr capability.
