Is Jersey being run in conjunction with a tour operator, i.e. have you had weekly flight with another airline before? If you have then i would guess that it will be seasonal like the same are from SEN, HUY etc...

Pretty sure EI/RE will be year round though.

Jersey is being done by a tour operator yes, the same one we've had for the last few years who chartered the weekly BD Embraer & F100 before that amongst other airlines/types. They also block booked seats on the WW & GSM flights if I'm not mistaken.

Something to speculate about at DTVA. Heard there is going to be some sort of meeting/announcement in May. Thats all I was told.

meeting?

Its march now.

Why wait until may? Can't be that important unless they are hoping for something from summer 2011 as that's when the tour operators launch next years summer holiday.
A lot can change from now until may and then a year later until 2011 starts!!!!

Don't panic. There is a pond on the airport where the ecologically important and protected species the great crested newt lives. There is always a May update on the breeding process and warnings to the public not to expect too many efts. With the harsh winter it may be that the breeding process has been put into disarray and may be later than expected.
The more I type this the more I feel that it is an analogy for the airport itself.

Nice one Paarmo, newts apart, then reality is that it is more likely that any meeting will be in reaction to a forthcoming announcement from Peel as to their plans in respect of disposal (or not!) of their airports interest.

I've heard that the meeting is to decide when to empty the litter bins in the terminal. Security have checked them for the past six months and it appears that there is an empty yoghurt pot in one. Any announcement will be in conjunction with a press release from the council refuse department.

According the Daily Mail, Peel is looking to sell a majority stake in its airports division to help fund its part in a £800 million bid for Forth Ports, a large port operator.

Think previously they've only talked about minority stakes?

The sooner it happens the better to be honest. Sure, any new owners may not turn the place around to the point where NCL see us as a threat as opposed to a nuisance, but surely they can't do any worse?!

Just had a Jet2 mini-brochure pushed through my door - I don't recall ever receiving the bmibaby/Flyglobespan equivalent!? On a similar note, has anyone seen Dublin or any of the other 'new' routes advertised anywhere? I haven't!

No advertisment or nothing obvious.

Is Jet 2 still missleading people by saying "from your local airport"?

Peel sell out

I'll offer £30 for a major share of D.T.V.A and take a risk at making money.

Seriously I'd like to see some enterprising company take it by the balls and make something of it as Peel have been a complete failure in that direction. Here's to the future whatever that might be.

Also, I've just had a promotional e-mail from DTVA - a bit 'preaching to the converted', but every little helps.

I do believe they just send them to everyone who has submitted their email and/or flew from there before - I had one this morning after flying to Amsterdam early last year. Atleast there's some advertising! I also heard it on Galaxy North East today.

I do think that everyone is being a bit "picky" here. Any advert for Teessside Airport is welcome and if the flyer is for an airline which does not fly from there it increases the profile of flying and nudges the recipient to look at using air travel.Who was it that said that there is " no such thing as bad publicity " and Barnum from Barnum and Bailey the circus said " I don't care what they say as long as they spell the names right "

Its a bit quiet!!

Think the leccie's been turned off here,no postings for 2 weeks??

anyway summer is nearly upon us and the increse in traffic is just around the corner??

Good job really as I see DTV continues to perform without compare.

January Passenger figures 11434 -47.9%
February 12950 -33.7%

Lets see Peel put some spin on that lot??

I would imagine the snow in Jan 2010 where ops at DTV were non existent for a few days and vastly reduced on others would have something to do with it.

Cant explain Feb - what did we have last Feb that we dont have this Feb - BMI to LHR I think still existed and what were Ryanair doing back then?.

It would be interesting in a way to compare also like with like i.e what ran then vs this year - shouldnt take someone 5 minutes
