Another site has a post claiming the 763 leases are being re-negotiated along with an A332 of HiFly to cover up to Q4.
Have the 763s destined to leave got homes to go to, or is it the end of the runway for them once they leave TOM?

the TOM 787 will have 291 seats, some 767 which were due to leave at end of April have had their leases extended by 3 months in case introduction is later than planned, full press release last Friday, company have put in robust contingency plans to ensure customers holidays not effected (remember they are flying on behalf of Thomson/First Choice so its the holiday they have booked as well as the flight) anyone whose flight that was on 787 that is changed due to grounding will be written to once the company know. All TOM know at the moment is that no deliveries in FEB (only 1 was expected by 28th) once Boeing give the airlines more info this will be communicated to affected customers.
In other words, they are in the deep .
You do have a way with words Mr Spotty!
TOM are hardly in the situation you describe...as others have mentioned alternative plans are being put in place and Mr Boeing will no doubt be raiding the coffers to cover the costs of this!

Thomson Airways customers hoping to travel on the dreamliner will have a £10 refund if the dreamliner is not available due to the ongoing technical issues.
Although delayed Thomson are still hoping to have the aircraft in service for it's current entry into service date however if it's not the case they do have a back-up plan using aircraft within the Thomson fleet.

May be, but knowing Thomson /Tui /Britannia over the years, they tend to be / can be very switched on. With their current 'European TUI Fleet', and they,as a group (TUI) looking at current loads, especially at the short haul market, where they may have L/H aircraft aircraft pre - allocated, I am sure they will be doing their very best to utilise their current fleet, - where perhaps their current loads may be poor / slow - and perhaps downgrade for a month or so,on certain routes to meet their potentially initial 'problem'. Lets remember, April & early May, can be slow, so they may have opportunities, to put in place a damage limitation exercise to cover the spring time.Hopefully the 787 issues may then be resolved.
Costs though down to Boeing -I think so, because surely ,sadly, they are liable?

The Thomson 767 fleet range from around 14-20 years old, so its unlikely that the older line numbers will go on another passenger lease. I see the two oldest L/Ns, G-DBLA (434) and G-PJLO (438), are being converted to a freighters.
They also have a handful at Arkefly. I'm sure the TUI Group could move some airplanes around to make sure they fulfill their obligations. Maybe Corsair could lend them a 747 or 330 short term to merge a few of the SFB trips? Can Thomson's own 757 reach SFB?
I'm sure Thomson have some flexibility built into their flying programme.

Lets hope for Thomson the 787 come on line. They have made such a drama of their upcoming introduction, going as far as putting 787 'leaflets' in their holiday brochures, tempting long haul punters with a 787 flight. I think there may be some dissapointed customers. Hope they had not chosen that holiday just to grab a 787 flight, as fear they may be dissapointed, maybe they could end up with an old 767 or even a 757!! with en route stop!

I think it's 294 the 787 holds however we have been told that for the first year of operation they were only selling 258 seats on it incase of any delays or tech problems then they could use a 767 without having to bump pax off

It won't happen, we'll not planned. It's just some enthusiast stirring up rumor and gossip that gets holiday makers in a panic. Next thing we know it will be all over holiday websites.
I would like to know how you can see something that hasn't been decided yet or certainly hasn't been released to members outside the board.

I think its not inconceviable that Thomson will sub lease if the dreamliner is not available to start the flying programme. I well remember Thomson getting Air Atlanta in, when short of capacity in the 90s, passengers got an L1011 Tristar! If I were booked on the earliest 787 Thomson flights I would be unhappy with a £10 refund, especially if the flights are operated by another airline, or they decide to deploy the 757s transat again.
