FJE

Sorry to dump the question here.........searched for FJE and this seems the most current and appropriate thread. Has Mr Evans found you any 757's post S07 or is the rug about to be pulled from under you?

Seems the start of the second daily Newark is delayed for about two weeks, as no seats are bookable on the afternoon departure until 15 August. Was meant to start on 31 July.

Has there been some delay in the original aircraft commencing its major maintenance programme this month ?

Website update today says that recently started work on the first aircraft(C check) has identified several problems that will require additional maintenance work lasting several weeks. Second daily flight will not now commence until at least 20 September.

Previous reg

The first aircraft was the Flyjet 767 and the second was from Thomsonfly and the next will be from Thomsonfly too.

Latest news is although second aircraft arrived for Silverjet G-SLVR that due to tech problems with G-SJET second daily flight has been delayed until September

Despite their problems re tech aircraft, the load factor for July increased to 76% (June 70%) but not surprisingly, the new, second destination which was to have been announced at the end of July is still under wraps. I suppose they could hardly announce a new route for a third aircraft in November, when they are not even sure of the date of the return of their "sick" airframe, to start the second daily EWR, although 20 Sept is the provisional date.

I do hope they manage to get things sorted out soon. I flew on them a couple of weeks ago, and their product is outstanding in my view. The attitude of the staff is so refreshing, and takes me back to the good old days of British Caledonian in terms of their desire to provide customer satisfaction without compromise.

The prices they charge have encouraged me to arrange most of my transatlantic travel to make use of their flights to Newark with onward connections. There are downsides in not travelling with the same airline onwards, but these are outweighed by the benefits of the Silverjet service.

I do wonder where the next destination will be. I quizzed the cabin staf on my last flight back a week ago, but if they knew, they weren't letting on.

Both my last flights have been completely full, but possibly this was because of consolidation of the two daily flights into one.

More power to their elbow !

Don't know if people noticed, but Silverjets share price has plummeted over the past month, at an all time low of 71p at the moment, down from 160p at the start of July.

Wonder if the aircraft problems have anything do to with it, or just suffering like the rest of the market this month.

Grrr

Share price dipped as a reult of the late intoduction of the second airframe and the news that the airline Flyjet was to cease operations.

Wasn't the first Silverjet 767, the one that Flyjet had an awful lot of problems with & never actually got it into service?

Everytime I have been onboard a Silverjet the pax have been extremely impressed with the levels of comfort and service. Lots of returning customers... load factors are very high!!! (even before the consolidated flights)

The next ex Thomsonfly 767 come's to Silverjet in two weeks, she should be refitted and ready soon after... ready for the new destination which will be announced soon!

SJET will return in Sep!

A Fleet of 5 767's (2 Extended Range) by next spring/Summer!

The future is bright... the future of business class is Silver!

Silverjet have confirmed today, that the second daily Newark service will start on 23 Sept, with the second aircraft having completed its C-check.

Load factor for August was 80%, although this is no doubt slightly inflated,
due to consolidation of the delayed second service.

No announcement yet of the second destination but this expected imminently.
