**BRING BACK FLYJET**
man i miss those days and a team that i was proud to work with.
Come on Dewey & Hawkins, you know you could make it work again.
I wonder if Flyjet had kept going wether or not it would of helped silverjet out along the way (providing the old girls had behaved themselves).
Cheers

Flyjet as St Trinians

Surely You cannot be referring to Dewey and Hawkins as the "old girls" or am I misunderstanding you ?

suppose what day of the week it was to refer to them as "old girls" LOL
nah, meaning the old aircraft (bombers as we called them). Was probably the best and most interesting company i have worked for. Loved it. I wonder what they are up to nowdays anyway !!!

actually, i bet Dewey is re-modelling his flight planning tools -
a world map, drawing pins and string and a never ending supply of fuel to the bomber plus abolishing FTL's.
only joking, but the map, pins and string isn't far off how we worked it LOL.

Being dense i wondered what a Signora is but the definition says it is -
"Used as a courtesy title for a married woman in an Italian-speaking area, equivalent to Mrs"
Are you saying he has become a drag queen !!!!!

Weren't Flyjet actually making money at the time of their closure? The only real reasons for their shut down were that leases were due to expire on the two old birds - EA and EB and with prices in the market at the time for leasing newer 757 aircraft substantially high the company could not afford to lease alternates, hence the only option was to cease ops. I know they had quite a decent contract, both in Denmark and in the UK for charter flying and out of all the UK charter carriers, Flyjet always managed to pick up sub contract and ad-hoc work. Also read any of their flight reviews and their crews were very highly praised by passengers, though criticisms were made on reliability and on some occasions service in terms of IFE, seat pitch etc.
It is a shame for all at S'Jet, not just the ex flyjetters - it is never nice to see an airline fold. I wonder if any of the ex FJE staff/management have plans in the pipeline, I wouldn't be surprised and totally agree with the comments made earlier, that having met some fantastic ex FJE crew they'd return like a shot!
Now, back to the thread - apologies to all Silver people, hopefully with your reputation and experiences, somebody else will snap you up!!

Best of luck to Silverjet employees. It seems the cold truth is that Silverjet are now history. As this thread has shifted to discussing another sadly defunct airline, it shall be closed.
