She said Silverjet will be adding two long-range planes in June - bringing its fleet to five - which will open up destinations across the world for the UK-based carrier, including San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong.'
Cheers.

Thanks guys. I thought that the fact they would only have 100 pax max would mean that the aircraft would make it although any thoughts on what would be the scenario if they are operating out of Dubai? That would surely involve a tech stop for a 767?

As a travel agent based in Herts - I would love to see a 1x Weekly Barbados/Mauritius. Between the Inde agents in London and the South East - we would have no problems filling it.

The proof of that Toledoashley is would you contract to take a fixed number of seats on the flights. My experience of Agents are they talk the talk but do not want to contract the seats so it is left to the Airline to bank roll the flying. I suggest you talk to Silverjet if you are that convinced.

With the remaining TOM 762's BYAA/BYAB due within the next few months. Does anyone know if there are plans to add more 762's in 2008?
5 a/c in 1 year is good going, and business seems to be booming. But would hate for them to expand too fast!

Two more are expected to come online in Oct 08, not sure where they are coming from. At least one airframe from the fleet is likely to go to Dubai, to set up a base, if the Dubai route works ok. Mind you, you are talking the best part of a year away; a long time in aviation, but it would bring the fleet up to seven.

Do not know where you are getting your info from "PowerJet1", but l have read that Silverjet were close to finalising a deal for its fourth and fifth aircraft, to be delivered in March.
These two aircraft are due to be handed over in March from the TUI group and are AA & AB.
These aircraft have the higher power engines and will have greater range from LTN than the other three in service.

How about Silverjet starting routes from LTN to Delhi and/or Bombay?
I've flown LHR-DEL numerous times. Business and First class always seem to have high load factors. With the rapid growth in the Indian economy there is very strong demand from Indian business and leisure travellers for premium seats between London and Indian destinations, as well as from the UK ethnic Indian community.
Here's one more who would be interested in a Silverjet service to DEL if it were ever to materialize.

Read in the local paper today, that Silverjet will nearly triple the size of its existing, private Executive lounge at LTN, from 10,000sq ft to 27,000sq tf. The enlarged facilty will be completed by June 08. This would tie in with a likely start date of its next destination.

Most of the old airside shops, bar, seating area and duty free shop are still there since being abandoned with the move to the new airside lounge. The extended baggage reclaim area has eaten into the old lounge on one side but a big area still remains undeveloped. The old Boots shop is now used as a warehouse for WH Smith but that is about it.

I had a look on board their aircraft at the Dubai airshow, and thought it was fairly hideous. The brown colour scheme looked like something from the 70s. The seats were very uncomfortable, and felt quite packed in. The cabin didn't have the air of luxury that any other serious airline's C cabin has.
I am very afraid about the future of this concept, one big problem is that people like to have "peasants" in economy to feel superior to, and a First to aspire to. Neither of these on Silverjet!
Or is there? To be honest, having only experienced the cabin on the ground I feel that the true positioning of the Silverjet product is really as a sort of "premium premium" economy, rather than business.
One really good thing was the hostie - the one I chatted to was a cut above the usual, definitely harking back to the BCal glory days as someone else noted.
Time will tell...
