80 pax
If you look at the numbers you can make things sound great but in absolute terms they had just 29 sectors each way in the month and an average of 80 pax on each. That would equate to around £2million income per year on a £900 average return ticket price. Going to a second flight per day is not going to double the income to start with but will double some of the costs. The hard bit for them is going to grow passengers without cutting fares.

Good you checked, I only did it for 1 month. £25m a year sound more likely.
They report that they are going to put out the accounts for the year to March 31st by the 7th September. That will give the first clue as to the cost base but only covers the first few months of operation. The accounts for half year to end of september 2007 should show if she has a chance.

Silverjet confirm second New York flight start date
UK all business class airline has set a date for the start of a second daily return service between Luton Airport and New York. The airline had been set to launch the second flight in July, but delayed it in order to use the new plane to operate the current single service and the airline's launch Boeing 767 completed a standard 18 monthly maintenance service.
The new flights will begin on September 23. The carrier's first daily flight from Luton will depart at 10:00 and arrive at 13:00 local time. The return flight from New York Newark will depart at 19:30 and arrive at Luton at 07:20 the following morning. The second flight will depart Luton at 16:45 and land in New York at 19:45 with the return departing Newark at 21:45 and arriving in London at 09:45.
Confirmation of the second daily frequency came as the airline issued passenger and traffic statistics for August, which showed an 80% load factor based on 4,654 seats sold out of an available 5,800. The airline achieved a 76% on-time departure record.

A little snippet seen in today's Times............
"Silverjet, the all-business class airline, is also expected to turn its attention to eastern markets as it considers launching flights to Dubai. The airline, which flies from Luton to the United States, will decide this week where its newest destination will be.
The airline is taking delivery of a third aircraft this week and sources in the Middle East suggest that the company could begin Dubai flights next month."

Correct, the first a/c will land at Luton at 0720 and depart again at 1000,
the second a/c will arrive in Luton at 0945 and depart again at 1645.
But 2 flights leaving Newark within 2 1/2 hours of each other in the evening??, redeyes are the favourite though.

Silverjet looking at Heathrow for expansion
Silverjet may tie up with European carrier on Heathrow-New York flights.
Business airline Silverjet PLC may link up with a major European carrier to break into the lucrative London Heathrow-New York air travel market, according to a report.
Silverjet, which currently operates from Luton airport in Bedfordshire to Newark in the US, is understood to have consulted advisers about selling itself to flag carriers such as Deutsche Lufthansa AG or Air France-KLM, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
It is thought to be considering a tie-up with another, more established airline because it would need the prized take-off and landing slots that they hold at Heathrow.
'Their plan seems to be to enter into some kind of agreement, either a sale or joint venture, with an airline that has landing slots at Heathrow in order to operate business class-only flights from the airport,' the newspaper quoted an unidentified aviation industry source as saying.
The Telegraph also quoted an unnamed source close to Lufthansa as saying: 'A link-up with Silverjet or a similar airline is something I cannot rule out. The airline will look at this, but then they look at many things.'
The airline is thought likely to be able to undercut Virgin Atlantic and British Airways PLC from Heathrow despite the higher costs of operating from the London hub, if it can secure the slots, the report said.

Sounds like a good way of trying to talk your share-price back up out of the doldrums by spinning an idea which commits you to nothing.
When will they go back to the investors to ask for more cash?

spinning is bad sign
Good news often seems to spring up in the sundays just before something bad happens. They know the junos will make a story from some of the record comments.
I was getting confused as the han anounced the date they would anounce the results!
