So have you done many APU changes on the line then Cabincrewe?
I didnt suggest I did. My point was clear -that the type of engineering ops carried out GLA would be unchanged should there be any move of "maintenance" to Manchester as line maintenance would still be required locally. I think you were in agreement with that. Regardless- nothing will change at GLA.

Things seem to be improving with GS too and very little delays
You sure about that?!

15:00 GSM448 PALMA EXPECTED 2245
22:30 GSM324 ALICANTE EXPECTED 0525

ALC is just an estimate as it hasn't even left yet! Tech aircraft at EDI and with no B736s they are already short with no backup, some things will never change...

Wonder if BA will appear on Watchdog regarding their delays at LHR this last 2 months. Delays and canx from Terminal 1 were bad enough...........

Exactly!

With all due respect, the flight deck returned the a/c back to EDI then a/c was AOG with a problem that was unforseen and a stroke of bad luck, Pax were given welfare, what else can they can expect?

GSM is not ryanair or easyjet with plenty of a/c on the ground to cover delays, nor have been nor will be. At least they didn't cancel the flight, and did their best to get pax to their destination as soon as they were able to.

I love the Edinburgh Evening News, probably some smart ass pax straight on the phone to the news office hoping to make it front page news...and ended up being the smallest article in the paper...yet 2 pages on they are selling globespan holidays!!!

it's time to give some globespan some credit..there's really no need to make a song and dance about a poxy delay when there's 460 cancelled BA flights from LHR.. lets put into some perspective.

Well said glfynorw

It seems that in the UK the 'smallest' carriers are always picked on by the media and whenever they have delays they make headline news (Flyjet, Air Scandic, Exclaibur, Paramount are just a few that got the same treatment). Its especially evident in the regions, where the media remain blissfully ignorant when the big boys screw up!

BA is perhaps not the best example example because their shambolic performance over the last week has been high profile media but no-one picks up on the fact that whenever they have a minor problem, such as a little bit of fog, they completely bin the SH programme and leave SLF stranded. At least GSM and other charter carriers do their damnedest to look after the salary source.

B736, GCDRA is back at EDI and is now operating GSM401 to BCN tonight.

This airframe was suppose to be heading back to SAS unless this was just a rumour.

Thumbs up flyglobespan comments

Here, Here I'm giving them my full support and flying with them in the summer to Barcelona.Ok so they had a disastrous long haul program 2007 with those 757's going tech .I have flown with them many times ( Orlando,Stansted,Malaga,Barcelona,Prague ) and have NEVER had occasion to complain about the product offered.Every flight has left within 30 minutes of that advertised and the service has been on par with other airlines. If you look for faults sure you will find them but then everyone slags off Ryanair but THEY still make a huge profit.

G-CDRA now back in GSM operating fleet - based EDI for S08. Looks as though the sale of these A/C (GSM own all 4 B736s) are not going ahead just yet.

Based A/C for Summer 08:

GLA
4 B738s
1 B736
1 B763ER
1 B752ER (but from different bases ops YHM)

EDI
1 B738
1 B736
1 B7NG
1 B733

MME
1 B733

ABZ
1 B7NG

Spare A/C: 2 B736s

Both CDRA/RB are only temp a/c - as per NOTAC

SAS are apparently not happy with the interior condition of them, i.e. the fwd galley looks a right mess!, patched up carpeting and the removal of the emergency exit lights on the seats, (gsm replaced these with the photostrip stuff)

The a/c is back to 123pax, how they used to be when we first had them!

GCDRB is still at Southend, will this be coming back north or heading to SAS?

As to the other 2 B736 at SEN/LPL, how far away are they from a return to operational status, as the last time i saw a picture of them they were no where near ready.

Will GCDRA/RB be available to GSM for the Summer 08 season as well as GCDKT and GCDKD?

Yes the MME 733 went tech in Malaga yesterday afternoon - so they pinched the EDI one this morning returning from Lasham and diverted it to MME to do our Faro flight - the Malaga from yesterday still hasn't returned however!

Rick Green can say what he likes,we'll be fine, oh yeah, but facts speak louder than words.......it's not even the silly season yet but the peeps at colinton are running around like headless chickens.
We don't have airframes or crews to cover AOG and consequent delays.
Crewing have told me we don't have crews to cover current flying and days off are being bought again......I won't sell mine for less than 2 or more DOP's how else will management will realise that we need more people?
