736 G-CDKT is still stored at LPL, having been there since 14 Nov, last.

It is expected to return to service sometime this month, according to another site.

Thanks for the info, any idea which aircraft on which day, I can't tell from the schedule? Does this mean that the flights with the 767 will arrive early (due to not having a fuel stop)?

no wee pixie they will still be late or approx around the time quoted.

remember all times on the website are based on them having etops.

there is time built in for a stop but no time built in for having to fly a non etops route so only the 767 can get close to the times quoted. The 757 needs a stop (departing gla) and without etops its running approx 90mins late (12 hour flight) hence why all the problems with the quick turnarounds required etc

If they are running behind going into the weekend without etops theres very little chance if not impossible for them to make up any time and get back on schedule.

Umpteen problems at MME too where GSM supposedly have a base. Despite hardly any flights during the winter with a "based" B733 (it spends more time on the ground than in the air!), a B737 is being borrowed from EDI again today due to a tech problem on the based a/c. All this after it came in 6.5 hours late this morning from AGP! When will GSM invest in some more realiable machines? Surely it will save them in the long run!

I'd guess 75 Thurs/Sat and the 76 for SFB via BFS on Fri.

Check flytecomm on the Thursday and you should be able to tell from there. whatever one they use on the Thursday will be used again on the Sat with the other filling in on Friday..

BTW... News may soon be coming re ETOPS and regular use of the 767.

Long delay at NCE yesterday - flight to EDI due to depart late morning finally boarded just before 2000 - punters did not sound too happy! Reason quoted was aircraft shortage but reading this thread it sounds like half the fleet is grounded at various maintenance bases.

More like aircraft tech for that one - pinched it from MME too. Left us with no aircraft to do the Alicante on the afternoon (1830 dep - eventually left around midnight).

Aircraft shortage?! I suppose technically that could be true, but then whose fault is it given that 2 B736s have just left the fleet and the other 2 are grounded?
However, there was no aircraft shortage in this case, OTDA landed at EDI from MME about 0830. Nice timing for the 0900 departure, only for it go tech at EDI.
Plus if it hadn't had gone tech it would have been back at MME in good time to operate the ALC...

Whats happening with the 767 situation for the summer are they leasing in or keeping GCEOD and bringing back ither GCEFG or GCDPT from Air India ?

Is it the 757 that will be operating the YHM flights ?

Angry GLA-ACE Summer Flights

Looks like Globespan have ruined my easter break to Lanzarote with a 9 hour schedule change.
Supposed to depart at 09.00 hrs on the 10th of April, now departing at 18.00 hrs.
The return flight isn't any better.
I can accept a few hours, but 9 is a bit much without any recompense.

I'm in the process of cancelling another flight with them in August.

I will never fly with this second rate back street joke of an airline again.

Same thing happened with us last year with First Choice, dont think its just globespan, every airline is guilty of changing flight times

I will certainly be checking GSM725 on Thursday, but not with Flytecomm, I'll be on it (hopefully)!

ETOPS by Thursday, I don't think so.

Another Globespan rumour, there's a novelty

1 x 767 for GLA-SFB for the summer (whenever that might be by GSM sched). Other 2 allegedly to be reconfig'd before going back to SAS. From there, who knows. Probably leased back to cover Canada routes unless others can be found. 757 for YHM unless its punted and something else arrives. It is GSM and that could change tonight, tomorrow, 2 mins before you fly...........

Angry

Having flirted with this thread on a daily basis, and now adding my tales of woe and down right disgust how this company is operated, I would now ask others to stop booking with this shambolic excuse for an airline, the sooner they disappear the better.

I would now like to be taken from whence I came and shot for booking flights for myself and extended family twice this year with GSM.

I now consider myself the daftest c**t on PPrune this evening.

GSM 767's

According to jethros

"GCEOD Boeing B767-319ER will cover for GCDPT on the Air India lease while that a/c undergoes a 'C' check during April. It then returns to the flyglobespan fleet to join GCEFG in operating GSM schedules during summer 08. There is then the possibility of both a/c being leased out during Win 08/09"
