Remind me what staff that is, then.
It can hardly be the same staff who, in the 90's, on regular occasions walked off the job with no notice leaving thousands of their own passengers (as well as those of other airlines they handled at the time) stranded at Dublin Airport for hours at check-in desks, gate areas and on already-boarded aircraft with no pushback available.
It can hardly be the same staff who in 1998 succeeded in discommoding thousands of passengers of all airlines when they, in cohort with Aer Rianta staff, illegally closed down the airport for a weekend in a dispute that had nothing at all to do with Aer Lingus staff.
It can hardly be the same staff who, in more recent times, routinely cause worry, upset and anxiety to their passengers with threats of strike to such an extent that even their own so-called loyal customers won't risk booking with them any more.
So what staff are you talking about, then?

Bearcat click here and you will see that Racedo has posted by far the most on this an Aer Lingus thread. 112 times. It is obvious he has an agenda and works for a well known Dublin based rival.
His posts should be ignored by all except the hairiest of camels.
As for Ayroplain he showed up bashing pilots during the last row in 2007.
His view:
Staff threaten strike = disgraceful treatment of pax by staff
Management threaten to shut company = silence...........
This poster wont be found in the desert.......but may desert you.

Racedo, why don't you apply for a job as moderator for this thread?

No there is a 330 doing DUB-IAD, so no need for DUB-MAD to get a 330. Dont know how that works out logistically. Barrington had mentioned the venture may be operated by a subsidary, so I dont know who is operating the flight?

Dont think Washington Madrid service is going to go ahead. HOWEVER, RUMOUR has it that there will be A330 services from LGW to JFK and possibly caribbean destinations also. Friday 5th June is the ''Big Announcement'' day. Could be very negative though considering that they picked the same day that Ireland have local and european elections and the fallout from those two events will overshadow any other news for the most part of the entire weekend if not longer. Perhaps I'm being a bit cynical?

43 years flying from Shannon to Chicago? EI havent served Chicago that long. Even if they did, and if people arent willing to pay the fares necessary to make it profitable the route deserves to be ceased anyway.

I thought that aer Lingus had suspended the Chicago route some of the winters in the early 90s to leave only Boston and New York as their T/A destinations.. i must be wrong!
