Yes or No to the 195
Could any one confirm this, the next three 195s are for, Inverness,Guernsey and the Isle of Man?
The Inverness aircraft might have been delivered by now?
There is a rumour that Guernsey are due to get theres in February?
Will Guernsey be getting one or not?
Will Guernsey end up as a TWO DASH Q400 based on the Island?
We have heard Embraer have done there homework on the subject and the aircraft can operate in and out of the Guernsey runway?
Guernsey do need a JET service to compete with the other operator on the Gatiwck route if they are going to win the battle on routes where there is more than one operator.

I too have heard from many sources thats the GCI states have put a hold on improving the runway, so i doubt that the 195 will be based there for a while.
Also if like BE have said that all 146s will be gone by Feb 08 then the only option would be a 2 Q400 op.
Although it would only be untill the fleet has been replaced but can the 145 operate into GCI??? Maybe the only way to preserve(slightly prolong inevitable) scheduled jet service to the island

Here's confirmation for you.
INV. YES 195. definitely, as the schedule calls for the crews to be mostly through their 195 conversion courses right now and Contract pilots are up there operating the 146. G-OINV I think as well.
IOM. No. definitely not. Absolutely totally not. Not this week anyway. The Summer schedule shows a lot of extra seats on the London routes and with this increased frequency. spreading the loads over more flights allows more seats to be made available and the Q400 means the cost of these is minimal, so a lot of low fares to stimulate demand. Put a 195 on and the extra costs, seating and no improvement in freqency just doesn't make sense.
When you think about the economics of the Q400 over the 146 we used to have, it's a no-brainer, the Q400 is a real winner in almost every regard. (except smooth landings and we're getting there too!)
GUR? dunno. Ask me one on sport.

I wouldn't have thought that BE would have two different sets of crew based at an airport. Surely, with only 2/3 planes, cost wise it would be better to only have one type? Obviously, if the demand is there then maybe it is different.

Proposed 195 basing for summer 08:
Belfast 2
Birmingham 2
Exeter 2
Southampton 3
Inverness 1
Jersey 1
Manchester 1
Guernsey 1 (now potentially no longer happening)
My money would be the GCI aircraft goes to either Brum or Manch.

Dont forget the owne of Guernsey airport also owns Aurigny so dont expect FlyBe to get too much help bringing in a better plane than Aurignys ATRs onto lGW. Last thing GCI wants to see is a big FlyBe success there

Re the 195 at Guernsey,
the performance for 195 operations from GUR has been published, however I understand that the State at GUR have imposed the >40T limit to protect Aurigny operations, the reason given is runway condition; FlyBe Guernsey based 195 crews had already commenced conversion training.

EMB 195 options
The link to the Chairman's statement in reply 407 gives details of 16 E195's as being required to complete the BA Connect aircraft substitution programme during 2008/9.
The other 12 are mentioned as still being options, along with another 15 Q400's, to support possible expansion of operations, post substitution.

Based on the story on Channel TV us who live on Guernsey will be without a jet service to Gatwick come the end of March!

Guernsey's runway no longer up to the job
There's pressure on Guernsey States to get the Island's runway back in its full operational condition.
Flybe want to introduce new aircraft on its Guernsey routes. But the airline says the airport isn't up to the job because the runway can't take the weight - and it'll be more than a year until it can.
The problem is Flybe want to introduce their new Embraer jets... In theory they should be able to use the runway without any problem at all. But the problem is, they can't.
Like any public road, Guernsey airport runway needs maintenance to ensure it can carry the weight it was designed for. Though it's perfectly fine for the aircraft presently using it, it has deteriorated over the years and it could be some time before it can take anything heavier. Flybe want to introduce their Embraer 195 jet aircraft, capable of carrying 118 passengers.
Both the airport Director and the Minister for Public Services were unavailable to comment today but have promised a response for tomorrow. One thing they have reassured though is the airport at the moment, with the scheduled aircraft is perfectly safe and indeed they say the Embraer Jet could land here it's just it couldn't land at full capacity.
Flybe's Ian Taylor said: "Immediately we are calling for an urgent meeting with Commerce and Employment in Guernsey, Public Services and the airport to see if further studies can be done. To see if this is a finite weight limit. Our winter schedule comes to and end in March, the 146 is leaving our fleet at the end of March. So therefore there will be a strong possibility, unless some remedy can be sort immediately, that Guernsey will be without a jet service in and out of the island."
Airport officials say it will be at least a year until the runway is ready to take the sort of weights it was designed for.

Would Flybe ever consider operating between Cardiff and mainland France - they did operate between BRS and BOD,EGX & TLS, be great for CWL if they started one or two of these routes from here.
They seem to have a good network of routes into France from other airports and after their expansion into CWL with BHD,EDI,GLA,NCL & CDG surely France must be the next choice ?
Or even BRU - this route has been empty since the Air Wales days and not forgetting Eastern who only lasted a few days on it !!!!!
Any news anyone on this ???
