Yes all very nice but 2 years too late. Think everyone has decided the outcome and its starting to slip in the wrong direction as far as an extension goes.
As for the comments below the news report well its clear to see how they feel.
Ryanair once again gets the finger pointed because their aircraft can't make use of the runway but Flybe, BMI and the charters can.
My question is this
If Flybe, BMI and the charters started flights to europe from the existing runway would the locals object and then start to complain about more noise and traffic from the additional flights.
Considering it would take over 2 Q400 flights to transport the load of a 738 would that not help with limits to aircraft movements.

It would appear that the ORK flight departs BHD 07.50, is this aircraft to be based now at BHD??
The first IOM get into BHD at 09.40. The aircraft operating ORK arrives back at 18.50, the last IOM leave BHD at 18.00. Will the frame be parked at BHD from 18.50 until the following mornings flight???

not that man in the park again , well this time there could be an element of truth in what he has said, although we will see if it happens or not... i think it was last year FlyBe did issue Servisair (or Aviance..) with an improvement notice... so either they didnt improve or have slipped back again.... they also have an improvement notice 25 miles down the road at BFS for bmibaby
BFS101, with a timing like that it must be BHD based... isnt it about 1.5-2 hours to ORK from BHD in their aircraft? unless they plan an early morning flight from ORK or use BFS

Believe that the Manx2 aircraft is indeed going to be based at BHD. Wonder will some other services be reorganised, as the three IOM services are all currently operated with an IOM based unit, so would appear the BHD aircraft is only scheduled to operate the two ORK's. Would mean the aircraft sitting at BHD from 10.30 to 16.10.
Also rumours going around that BD are going to contract Servisair to provide ground staff. Apparently BD contemplating reducing flights down to 4 or 5 a day, and therefore inefficient to be having BD staff sitting around between flights. Just a rumour, but I think would be a great shame to see BD reducing Belfast flights. Also apparently BHD is one of the last station outside LHR that self-handle.

Good to see the Belfast-Cork route will continue under Manx2.
Aer Arann pulled this route as the Cork based a/c was also doing the Cork-Dublin route in competition with Ryanair and losing big time..
The Aer Arann a/c is returning to the lessor next month.
The Belfast-Cork flight on a turbo prob is about an hour as opposed to a 4 hour drive along the new motorway. Got to decide which way to travel in time for the Guinness Cork Jazz festival in October

I hear that the role at the SIB is the new position for 'the factory worker'. At least they will now have an opportunity to get someone who knows how to run an airport and perhaps a little about planning and whose objective is not to network with the political and business leaders in order to secure the next step up the ladder.
Still, lets be thankful for what was achieved under this stewardship, ie the renaming of the airport after a family friend.

Sarcon, you forgot ' bringing low fares to Northern Ireland', still it's good to see someone getting the better of MOL for a change
I hear the BD will be 5 daily from winter schedule and they are planning to outsource the front of house handling.
He has better timing than Bertie and Tony.

SIB? Do they not normally leave city and go straight to Aldergrove. Quite a few have in the past. Wasn't the late MCB involved with BFS after city, AH was, and so was the current boss.

Sarcon I guess you will be sending your CV to the owners of GBBCA seeing as you already know everything there is to know about running an Airport GBBCA could really do with someone like you instead of BA after all his record is not much to write home about is it. The Airport has fell apart over the last 3 or 4 years the Terminal Building is a mess, Passenger Figures at an all time low, Airlines leaving like snow of a ditch
