Thomas Cook will be operating the SSH through the winter and to at least April next year, they have even picked which 757 will operate the route.
On a side note they operated the 767 instead of the 330 out across the pond yesterday.

Did anyone else hear of an EZY A319 tech with bleed air problems over the last couple of days or so?
As for Servisair, i wouldn't worry about them, with all the cargo they do and Jet2 and TCX they are safe. Id sooner bet Aviance will have problems, or Menzies with Aer Lingus.. but just my personal view

from a "base" point of view servisair will be ok, but from a job point of few id be worried.... (they took on 20 summer staff... all of which are being fully trained, ie.. pushbacks..)
Aviance should be ok, they might possibly hang on to a few summer staff as they will have the BFS-PRG flight come December (but this depends on what way the schedule is like) they took on a couple of people, some whom jumped across from servisair
Menzies will still have approx 220 EZY turnarounds a week, and 35 EI's (i think the 3rd EI aircraft will return in March), as far as im aware they are operating with the bare minimum amount of people possible.. the ramp took on 3 part-timers (20 hours) and 2 casual workers, i think PAX services was similar

the Norwegian F16's are all night stoppers
Regarding Aviance and Servisair, this is happening all over the country, generally the smaller one gets merged into the bigger one, examples being Cardiff (i think) and now Dublin. Id be surprised if Aviance took over Servisair in BFS as its much smaller, and the only customer of value they have is Continental.

I believe LBA and some Terminal in LHR, its not Servisair doing the buying, but the company who owns Servisair is doing the buying or at least buying the contracts from Aviance I believe is how it is working, Aviance in DUB have been taking about going since MAR, they have BD/KAJ/WOW/IB/TK/BE in DUB at the moment, not getting the CO from Servisair and loosing the EY is believed to have been the final straw so to speak.

those f-16s were an awesome sight this morning (fly-by then peeling off 1 by 1 to land), 2 of them landing done a wheelie for a good 200m lol... it was so interesting that an EI flight inbound from LHR requested to hold to watch them land
power cut in LTN today has messed up the schedule badly and a base 737 is tech in ALC (estimating arrival 23:59, 10 hours later than scheduled) some aircraft swaps to minimize details, but still going to be more nightstoppers in after 2300 than before... the PMI flight which isn't leaving until 21:40 (at least) could end up not coming in until 0400-0500...

Interesting you should say that DublinDispatch, as rumour has it that the man who owns the company that owns Servisair (or something to that effect) is visiting very soon, though ive no idea why.

also does anyone know why 2 prop planes would be chasing an army helicopter along the runway before going into formation, having a circuit and landing? was quite amazing to watch

nope it wasnt them, although i did see them yesterday
1 of the prop planes was the one thats used by the police or army (grey) and the other was a more civilian typed one... when they both came round to land they didnt seem like they were in a hurry to put their noses down..

Ahh yea Islanders, the police and MOD have several, both on military and civilian regs, ive seen quite a few on unusual paint schemes too. Theyre always detectable from far away as their landing lights are on the wingtips

Army Air formation flypast
The formation consisted of a Gazelle helicopter, an Islander and a Defender.
It was a rehersal for a formal flypast that will take place later this week to celebrate an Army Air Corps occassion.
Any further information will result in me having to shred myself again.
The Grobs are based until the end of the month and increase the daily movements dramatically. They are civilian registered but for some strange reason do not get included in the monthly stats.

noticed the CO flight push back, then taxi very slowly before performing a very ballsy u-turn in the cul-de-sac where stands 9-15 are located and then returning to stand 22 where it sat for an hour and a bit, engines started on stand with GPU connected then a boom-lift appeared at the back of the a/c, must have been APU problems
also BFS was down to 2 free stands this morning for nightstoppers (11 and 10) was a TCX on 9 this morning

I noticed a nice Beech Bonanza in BFS a couple of days ago, with the aircraft reg only stencilled/outlined on the side, making it harder to read
