Winter 2008/2009 HH6702
Dont think any Easyjet flights for any time in October this year are on sale yet.( winter usually starts end of Oct)
On recent form I would be very surprised if there are any new routes for winter 08/09 from either Easyjet or Jet2. In fact a reduction is more likely. Hope I am wrong.

as stated in the Masterplan....
"Over the past 10 years, Newcastle International has recorded occasions when operations were limited by the existing runway configuration and length. These have generally been related to the existence of an area of higher ground at Callerton Hill to the west of the airfield, which has affected take-offs using runway 25 towards the west.
The existence of the Hill, together with the buildings and trees on it, means that safety margins are increased for take-off in this direction. This, in turn, means that certain aircraft using runway 25, in certain weather conditions and
to certain destinations, are required to either:
• Request to use runway 07, which is not affected by rising
ground; or
• Undertake a technical (refuelling) stop en-route to their
final destination or depart without a full load of passengers.
Overall, the number of such events is relatively small, and
they are currently limited to certain types of aircraft operating
to destinations towards the limit of their intended range.
Recent examples include certain A320, A321 and B737 aircraft to Cyprus, Spain or the Canary Islands. "

Not really when you break down the effected flights it’s only a very small percentage of the types/routes operating out of NCL. In fact you can just about cancel the A320/1 as it was a MYT ops restriction which was sorted years ago. B737’s were older variants operating long flights and we don’t see so many MD’s these days!
Plus at £1 million per linear metre(priced 2002) it’s a very expensive option extending the runway!
Mind you I am not saying it will not happen but unless we have a regular operator needing a longer runway or the CAA changes its RESA rules to older runways then……not for the mo.

I'm sure Jet2 and Easy will help out by sponsoring one runway light each!!
I guess, being serious that there is a 'catch 22' situation, in that what comes first. The promise of bigger aircraft flying longer distances or the bigger runway to attract them in the first place?

.......here has someone from PPRUNE edited my post above. I swear I mentioned someting about getting cheap Irish labour (and meant it as a joke)!
If PPRUNE are going to start to get to PC then I can't be bothered to use it. They could at least have the decency to say they have edited your post!!

Morning Brussels Flight
Is there any more news on morning SN flight? I'm on the PM flight every week. It nevers more than 1/2 full.
I presume they won't run the morning due to slots at Brussels?
