SEN was never in Aer Arann booking system, LTN base move announcement hasn't been made but several articles point to a March start date, should know this week.

If Aer Arann issue a Press Release regarding SEN on the 27th January, as is being widely reported and with the transfer of routes to SEN having been originally suggested for 28th March, that would give a very neat two month notice period for the changeover.

I don't know where gilesdavis got the idea SEN was ever on the RE route map or booking system - to my knowledge it never was.

A number of weeks ag I was told that LTN - WAT and GWY will continue after March but flights to Southend will start at the end of March. I that is true then I would expect Southend to operate on Sun, Mon, Thurs and Fri.

This contract is certainly good news for MON Engineering (things were looking pretty bleak a while back!)
Just that MAEL have no capacity to do their MON maintenance now, all now done in MAN and having to lease hanger space off Thomas Cook, hope the sums add up & since they laid a few Engineers off at LTN last year, will they be offering these guys jobs back? 10 years work is good, but do they wish they had not sold one of their hangers to Ocean Sky/Bombardier!

Luton bid to become a City & Express Newpapers move to Industrial Estate next to parkway, this can only help inward investment for the airport as well??

A MON 757 is currently on "C" Check in H63!

Don't believe the FedEx contract is for 50+ aircraft as in 50+ tail numbers. Maybe 50+ checks? Initially it will be for our 4 A300's & 2 A310's currently operating in the EMEA. The checks are being moved from TAP in Lisbon. Soon to be a 5 A300s and 1 A310. The EMEA based 757's could eventually be thrown in the mix too.

Grrr

With easyJet offering flights from Southend (allegedly, wink-wink), will routes from Luton suffer?

Doubt it, the Southend routes would probably be a partial experiment, much like Bournemouth. However, hopefully this will be successful.

Waterford and Galway will still have flights to LTN next summer on Sun, Mon, Thur and Fri. Afternoon flights all via Waterford.

Aer Arann LTN-WAT/GWY

Aerarann.com - About Aer Arann - News 2011

Good at last to have some definite news about RE's intentions at LTN, given the debut at SEN - even if it does mean less rotations, and indirect to GWY. A complete loss of these routes would have been a disadvantage for LTN and the regular pax using them, and a transfer risk for RE at SEN. All unproven, but good for SEN if it works.

Would seem an ideal route for 'City Ireland' and the old Fokkers!

Drop Off Fee

Can't remember if it has been reported before but the Drop Off Fee appears to be back to the orginal 1 again.

I was not aware that it has ever changed. Sure you are not getting confused with the fare hike for the shuttle bus down to the station?
