I've just been looking over the planning application for the runway extension again, and visited the application page at Solihull Council's website;

http://www.solihull.gov.uk/planning/...sp?Y=2008&R=22

I noticed at the bottom:

Decision
DeadLine 25/04/08
Does this mean a decision has to be reached by today, and thus can we expect some 'action' regarding this in the coming days/weeks, or does it mean something else?

Any help appreciated... I'm not really into all this planning application stuff so please excuse me if I'm wrong.

Yes, that was the decision deadline. This has now been extended until the end of June....
So you were right.
Hope that helps.

xl programme 2009

I have recived a e.mail to my company ref xl group holidays 2009 from BHX airport.

On checking the web sites for 2009 kosmar show the 2008 programme for 2009, freedom flights show all flights onto EMA no BHX and xl shows no flights from BHX for 2009,

Do any of you no the programme from bhx for the xl group in 2009?

Regards SV

They might swap MAN for BHX if some of the
rumours I hear are true!

Only rumours im afraid. No way in hell will Sundowners be happy with letting SV go from MAN, considering they literally jumped through hoops pursuading SV to take MAN.

Well Stuart like most UK airports BHX seems to have lost one A320 for 2009. EMA, an airport we can see you very much support has taken a large loss with TOM certainly scaling back flights and the removal all together of any long haul services.
Summer 2009 will certainly be a period of consolidation for all tour opertors from all UK airports. EMA included and certainly not just BHX.

BHX will have 5 TOM 757s and for 5 days a 767-300 (5 long haul destintions) 3 TCX 757s and a Monarch A321 all for charter work. Still the UKs third largest charter flight base.

Yes i have a soft spot for EMA i have seen it grow from a RAF field in 1965
to a large airport it is today,
May i correct the tom flights at EMA you quote from the tom web site for 2009 on a tue a flight to sfb and on wed cun i think that is l/h also the 3 aircraft based for tom 2009 have more flying than in 2008.

May i ask again do any of you no the 2009 flying programme for xl group
thy have a launch party for BHX flights in may, if has you say the km aircraft is to leave BHX, will we see Kosmar put its flights on tom aircraft?

tui @ ema.

As a result of our merger the FCA/TOM flying programme at EMA next summer will be down by 1 aircraft - namely the fca A321.
We will have 2 x 738 's and 1 x 752. Therefore a reduction !

Swapping Terminals

Ryanair move to T2 from 4/6/08, with Eastern and Swiss going to T1.

Swiss requested the switch so they could link up with the other Star Alliance carriers.

I thought (from BIA) themselves that 3 airlines were relocating to T1. I thought this would have been AF, KL and SN. Quite shocked if this is not the case - its fairly packed in T2 at some points of the day and the loss of LX and T3 isnt going to dent that much. Where will all the pax go when Ryanair extra frames start coming in on the 17th.

T2

Flew out of T2 on Friday and back last night and it was a dream.

Even departed from an airbridge (on the 195) but bussed back from
stand 21 (Q400) last night but even that worked well.

However when FR arrive how will they cope around the security area?

Might shade it with just the two based but there must be a chance that
aircraft three and four won't be too far behind and that does not bear
thinking about.

Also I departed at 10.50 along with a KLM 738 and a couple more BE's
and the place was packed. Mind you still better than the flybe gates at
T1 in CDG .

In one sense it is a shame to see such a great little terminal used
in such a way but time moves on as they say.

PSA

Alvechurch

Pisa started 2/4/08 Wed, Fri & Sun

Girona started I think the day before Tu, Tu & Sat

Marseille started 1/5/08 Tu, Th & Sat.

The first based aircraft arrives around 17/6/08 and
FR move to T2 around 4/6/08.

Good to see SAS back to MD's from Winter 08.

Hi Pete, I completely missed it.
There was no start date on the BHX schedule and I assumed it was coming on at roughly the same time as the Marseille route.
So FR moves to T2 around 4/6/08. Bit of a squeeze coming up, T3 please.
