E175
Just curious...why are there no E175 aircraft operating to/from LCY?
(Aside from aircraft not having been certified for LCY operations)
Surely the aircraft would "fit" all the main stands, and has approx. 8 more seats than the E170? (Same wingspan as E170, not as long as a Dash 8 Q400) Would this not make for a more economic model, assuming passenger loading is high??

Performance - the 175/195 are larger aircraft using the same wing as the 170/190. The range for departures would be bearable, but they can't meet the approach speed requirement on LCY's steep glideslope.

From a thread I wrongly started elsewhere
Possibly the world's greatest airport for ease of use and quick throughput, but landed last night and noticed quite a bit of jobsworthness going on. First we were bussed 50 metres from the plane to a little bit (a very little bit) further along the terminal. 50 metres! Second, there was an awful woman at "UK Border" bossing a load of arriving foreign school kids about in the queue. "Stand further forward, stand further back, listen to what I say" etc etc.
Usually at City you walk off the plane and out of the airport in 10 minutes. All of the above carry on made it 30 mins last night. A worrying decline.

Use of buses, as I understand it, is to get pax to correct arrival area for domestic or international arrivals....or for the "pushback" stands. Generally speaking the airport tries to arrange domestic flights to park on "domestic stands" (those with access to domestic arrivals hall) and international flights to "international stands" (those with access to international arrivals hall).
Sometimes though it's not possible to do that - due to limited number of stands available - e.g. outbounds with slots, ramp congestion, etc, etc) so the inbounds are given next available so as not to hold for a stand that is currently occupied.
That is a pretty simplistic overview but fits the basic principle.
Re: border control, I really don't have enough knowledge on that front to comment.
I'd suggest you had an unlucky day - every agency involved really does want to "process" the pax as quickly & efficiently as possible

BA increase ARN and MAD
British Airways are increasing Madrid and Stockholm to 3 daily from October 28th.
BA to add flights from LCY to Stockholm and Madrid - Business Traveller

The Sun Air BA-franchise route LCY-BIL twice daily appears to have been discontinued. I can't find it in the OneWorld timetables, LCY Arrivals/Departures or BAcom. BIL-MAN still operates as a BA franchise.
So that looks conclusive. They kept that quiet.

Don't think so. I am booked for September and flights seem to be operating. Probably a reduction/suspension for the summer period. Sun Air is heavily dependent on business traffic.
