Wow, you sure they are -300's? If they are Q400's then what will that do with regards to our future (hoping for Farnborough) fleet replacement? Just something to think about before bed time...
One of the benefits for me would be that I would do less EDI/GLA work and more European work.

Wondered why BA were keen to get back to GLA-LCY after they dropped ot and now we know. They are dropping one of the two night stopping LHR services to re assign the slots and really pushing the LCY service.

Flybe Dash 8-300's
The only DH8-300 BE have are the ex BACON ones and these have all been sold on to other carriers.
Have heard that BACF are interested in leasing G-OINV the ex BACON a/c that operated the INV/LGW service. DH4 would suit the daytime frequencies to EDI.
It would mean a big change the the BACF winter timetable.

I did LCY-EDI at midday today with CityJet.
9 pax on an RJ ! At least when Scot did it with Dorniers that would have been at a much reduced cost of operation. Time to ask them to come back ?

When Scot Airways left the building I tried AF and BA but they were invariably late or cancelled, the RJ is not a comfortable seat, too squashed for a lardy like me, so I now do BA to LGW on the A-319. Punctuality is still an issue, the brekkie is not as good as SA, but at least I have a seat which caters for passengers with backsides wider than a supermodel's.
I do this trip weekly and I sorely miss SA as do a number of other regular PAX who've stopped using BA/AF.
Not surprised there's hardly anyone using them

At the a July 9 Oireachtas Transport Committee hearing Cityjet's Mr. Geoffrey O’Byrne White goes on the record with this:
We conducted some studies in that regard on account of Aer Lingus pulling out of the Heathrow route and were encouraged by our analysis. We have a Shannon-London City Airport connection under active consideration.

..... and the return trip EDI-LCY. Came back in at about 19.30. Held at Spear AND at Alkin. How tedious. And costly for Cityjet.
Described as "due to congestion on the ground". Excuse me, have we not just paid out big bucks for the new gates and a bit more taxiway precisely to overcome this situation ? Where is the scope for any more growth ?
45 on board. Agree you couldn't get that many in a Scot Dornier.

Touch at go at LCY
Did a touch an go coming back to LCY from EDI on Sunday on the BA8717 !
Hit the ground with a thump, bounced (I think) and then blasted off again. Captain said there was a sudden change in the wind and loss of lift and the only sensible thing to do was to go around.
Must have been busy in the cockpit, presume the spoilers on the wings did not deploy. Impressive climb performance for the RJ100.

Wondering re slots
Could anyone in the know tell me what the situation is with slots at LCY at the moment? I've heard over the vine of grapes that flights operated by aircraft with less than 70 seats won't be given any new slots (which could of course be rubbish?), but are there any slots available at peak times??

Hi Otters,
LCY is at it's capacity at the Peak slots, as far as I'm aware there are no available slots during the peak times. If there was any, they would be snapped up instantly.
I'm sure AUA would have liked those precious key peak time slots!

Thanks for the reply HS-125
The reason i ask is that looking on the online slot coordination thingy-ma-bob, LCY appears to have available slots during peak times for Summer 08 but not for winter 08... any ideas??
Airhumberside makes a good point, theres been a few route slimmings, cuts and EMX going bust recently; have there been additions too that I've missed so have these been and gone?
Also anyone confirm or deny the +70 only rule?

Am I correct in thinking that this is the first of the CiyJet additional routes started when they began their LCY hub operation in early 2007 to be withdrawn, apart from the little operation to Belfast (which always seemed something separate anyway with subcontracted operation) ?
Always thought the set of routes they began were somewhat speculative, many duplicated/triplicated what European-based operators and/or BA were doing. You normally get a lot of chopping and changing with such new ventures in the first 12 months, there has been little so far with CityJet.
