I count 43, So where's the other two destinations as advertised on the website? Someone in marketing can't count or is that the point of marketing?

I see that the two stored 747-400's have been moved to the southern end of the old 17/35 - looking very impressive from the road. Anyone know what's happening at the northern end?

....and frequency increased to 4 x weekly.

Summer - Monday, Friday, Saturday
Winter - Monday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday

Hope this shows flights are selling well and more routes on the way!

Does anyone think that BE or SI will start a guernsey route in the near future, it would also be good if manx2 were to start a route to the IOM?

I doubt SI will be seen in BOH again, they don't like paying handling agents & employing their own staff to run a station again is a definate non starter.

Route Development

Sorry can't answer re the 777's - someone else im sure can.

Re the bmibaby extra winter services. this causes me concern. all too often airlines experience a GREAT summer at BOH and then offer more winter flights only to be disappointed by the demand reducing in the winter and then pull everything for the following summer. Why not keep the frequency the same for the winter (conservative approach) to allow for further establishment, then following summer increase frequencies so losses are minimised and maturity of the route is achieved.

I believe taxiway repairs under way necessitating use of north part of 17/35 as temporary taxiway.

There are 5 or 6 777's coming in for conversions over the coming weeks
Not A330-200s?

Winter in Jersey

The islands are notorious money losers in the winter, locals wanting to escape and the odd business visitor being the usual fare.

SAGA holidays used to manage to extend the Jersey/Guernsey season from February to November, but its always thin in the winter, too much fog and rain!

.... now a few rotations to Paris each week are more likely to attract the winter weekenders...

Agree Flitefone

BOH is so leisure orientated with very few business uses.

Channel Islands could be a disater for BMI in winter so hope in does not deter their summer 2011 plans!

I tend to agree that Jersey might not be the best route to operate 4 a week flights in the winter but if the aircraft has that much down time in Jersey to fit in the schedule to BOH then it may possibly work

Here that bookings on the Jersey route are doing very well for the summer though !

What we really need is BMI baby to operate a couple of W patterns at weekends to Salzburg and Grenoble as these flights were always really popular with Thomson and went out with good loads

Prehaps Palmair should consider these routes ( i do fear a bit for this airline at BOH at the moment as they seem to be lost in the system and not sure which dirtection to take )

New departures hall now being used.

The new terminal is now being used for departing flights. It will be fully operational within a few months. Things looking good and the airport are still expecting passenger numbers to triple over the next few years.

Wonder what Ryanair will make of BOH's new Dublin carrier (Palmair) starting on the 12th June for the summer season.

It's on the Palmair website (also see Palmair Thread), prices ranging from £29-£49 incl of taxes each way.
Sounds very much like Palmair have picked up a charter programme operating ex Dublin and are trying to fill the positioning legs.

cant see it on the palmair website... could you post a link?

if it is any more than a day trip then i would say Palmair are suicidal. Ryanair will murder them on other sun routes at BOH.

Palmair should be looking at expansion from SEN and KENT INTL
