Thanks for the info, we don't get to see what it's like unless we travel as pax. It is the same crews as it's always been though for TT and just after you'll see some new faces up front as we go down to Exeter to convert.

It will be sad to lose the jets, but they use a lot of fuel, and are not very green. The Q400 is a super beast, here's to the future!

I agree the Q400 does look great on the ground, but should the thing be flying instead of being on the ground.

Propaganda? Well let's see, I do admit I'm trying to adjust to a future flying a TP instead of a 146, but the more I look into the Part B the better the Q400 seems.

It is the aircraft of the times, rather than a dinosaur like the 146. I'm sold on the 8 tonnes of fuel saved per day alone, let alone any other benefits.

The only thing that's keeping the things on the ground is the lack of crews right now. It will certainly seem strange after 6 years of flying one offs, to have 40 identical toys to play with.

Tell me about it

I've never had to divert back to LGW before. Clever though, it protected the rest of the day's schedule and several pax who got off would have been very late for meetings, etc anyhow. Glad we had enough fuel.

Wx is back to normal now, pressure rising so a nice weekend in store.

It looks like Manx2 are running the biggest schedule from Blackpool.

Have a look at the timetable (through the booking system) on the weekends around the TT weeks, you will see why!

Does anybody know what a/c they will be bringing in as three a/c will be unable to cover that schedule.

MUFC fan my guess would be the second Metro will be back to cover the schedule. Seems the most obvious choice now they no longer deal with jetstream executive.

Thumbs down

Am told that the other day positioning crew (prior to operating) failed to arrive at IOM due fog - standard delay in the hold etc then return to MAN. When back on ground at MAN, FO called Ops to find out plan - "what fog" was the response. They didn't even know their own flight had diverted!

Says it all!

Blackcap, I would have thought that if the handling agent on the IOM had passed on the message re the diversion you speak of as they should have then ops would have known.

Yeah, a lot of delays have been down to cock ups, but they've not been exclusively Flybe's. For example FS erroneously 'rescheduled' 49 E145 LGW bound pax putting them onto a later 146 service because they'd misread a telex from Flybe Ops. It would have taken too long for the pax to be re-listed, so the 145 went empty to LGW as a result.

The shop floor the incident you speak of had to be seen to be believed. Pax were furious. Its being a little harsh on Flybe though. They cannot control weather delays. It seems that the crew for the MAN is often scheduled to arrive from LGW so when that is delayed the whole thing goes

Intresting to note. Missing baggage for Flybe is now handled by MR not FS.
