Does anyone know if Aer Arann will be staying on the Knock-Dublin route that Cityjet declined recently?

This is copied from the arrivals board of Dublin Airport for tomorrow, I think an Aer Arann is over nighting in Derry. Anyone know why there is an extra rotation tomorrow?

They have 2 ATR-72's with Flybe until OCt so that's going to rake in the cash for them.

Tonight Aer Arann cancelled Cork/Belfast and Derry/Dublin

The evening flight went Dublin/Derry and then left Derry routing Derry/Belfast City/Cork
What an interesting combination. I think there were issues with ac in Cork today.

I am wondering would Aer Arann look to Derry to base an aircraft, and do a Derry/Belfast City/Cork routing?

Some of the thinner routes from Derry could be a reasonable opportunity for Aer Arann ones which Ryanair would not do. I think Derry to Cork via Belfast city could be a good way to Develop the link?

What does any one else think?

It looks like it actually routed Derry - Belfast - Dublin - Cork to combine the Derry - Dublin , Belfast - Cork and the late Dublin - Cork into one sequence. Interesting recovery!

Cork operations

Schedule all over the place in Cork today, Bristol and Lorient flights due around midnight. Eastern Saab 2000 doing many flights. Talk of a Spanish ATR72 hire in but it didn't materialise so far.

3 tech aircraft in fleet yesterday, good recovery plans imho with no direct cancellations. Spanish ATR72 made the 3rd tech a/c in dub last night after arriving from MAD and operating 2 sectors. A tough day for RE but it happens to all airlines.

Paul Schuhz is formally of Eirjet and also spent some time with Ryanair.

Question: Why is Arann placing aircraft with the likes of Flybe whilst subbing in the likes of Eastern and VLM. I understand it is lucrative having aircraft on wetlease but itsn't Arann exposing itself if Eastern/VLM dont perform to the standards Arann pax have come to expect?

Excuse me, Eastern was voted most on time scheduled operator in the UK recently and the service standard is of business class but they operate to whatever Aer Arann pay for!

... and VLM was voted "Best UK Business Airline". Aer Arann's concern should rather be if their customers will be spoilt when their customers are treated to a much better prodcut that both VLM and Eastern offer - be it service-wise or time-keeping-wise.....

Two new ATR72-500s were delivered yesterday, that hopefully, will help resolve the hire in issue.

Anyone know where these will be based ?

Credit Card Fees

Aer Arann have increased their credit card fees and now payable per passenger per sector.

A booking GWY LTN for two passengers last week cost now EUR8.00 now costs EUR20.00. A family of 4 now costs EUR40.00.

No bank charges the airline that type of amount per transaction.

i'd say just a bad patch, some of the cancelled routes were for the summer schedule only. They seem to be activeley looking for new routes, i.e ork-pik and they also regained the dublin - knock PSO.
