Route announcements

Does anyone know if anything new to be expected at Shannon the postings here about new Edinburgh services and mainland Europe being announced seem to have been idle speculation - I'm
Still hoping stobart will pick up Edinburgh - with all the recent announcements from knock and more so cork - Shannon being left behind - come on Ryanair give the mid west some good news !!!!

Can't help you on that one Dreamliner - but perhaps you or someone else might be able to comment on why E1134 Boston - Shannon was cancelled last night - 30th Nov ?

EDI 6 weekly from March.

Nice capacity Increase on the previous EDI service, and Likely to put the pressure on the Knock routes.

yes NOC especially from EDI had always been a bit subjectively marginal, so will be interesting to see how the two go together. SNN depending on flight times could be a another one stop to USA from EDI although minus US immigration benefit of DUB. EIr have quite the network now. Wonder if Carlisle will work for them.

Shannon had the Immigration and Customs pre-clearance before Dublin, it was infact the first airport in Europe to get it!

i was surprised to see it being a morning flight and being offered by a dublin aircraft given, the amount of pax who transfer using dublin especially at those times, the shannon connection opportunity should do very id say and will certainly give the service a good start.

Interesting to see if they get much transfer pax given Edinburgh now have direct flights to New York with both delta and American Airlines - certainly the Edinburgh departure time not great for leisure traffic - interesting to see his performs should do ok

I'd imagine it wont make or break either route but will help the viability. I believe that the connecting will do well because :

1). There was alot of transfer pax when BHX and MAN were connecting routes, and they have better routes to the US than Edinburgh

2). Looking now fares are very cheap.

I will take a random Wednesday in July. Lets say the 12th-19th July.

Aer Lingus
EDI-SNN-JFK £706.51
EDI-DUB-JFK £733.24

American Airlines
*EDI-JFK £998

British Airways
EDI-LHR-JFK (Return via LGW) £990.98

Delta
*EDI-JFK £993.54
EDI-AMS-JFK £962.84

KLM
EDI-AMS-JFK £966.04

Lufthansa
EDI-FRA-JFK £1000.77

United Airlines
*EDI-EWR £997.44

Based on 1 adult

So what's obvious from above is that Aer Lingus is miles cheaper than the rest, with a stop through Shannon being the cheapest method.
