Rumoured to be going to a 777-300 soon too.

Nice revenue source for the airport, even if it's only temporary.

For all those interested in Shannon's Paris route or lack thereof, don't be surprised if Transavia makes an appearance in 2018, potentially late for 2017, but my source says discussions have taken place and a few times weekly summer route could be on the cards with main focus being on inbound French market...

Not surprising, look at the sheer amount of French inbound charters in the summer.

Birmingham goes to 7 weekly starting in April, Heathrow gets a 730am departure from Shanon instead of 0850 at end of March which should increase loads dramatically and EI extend Lanzarote to end of April.

Is that the first time SNN-LHR has had the morning slot it needs to make proper money since it was dropped for BFS-LHR? Ot did it not have that even then? I seem to recall it was operated by a LHR nightstopper when I flew it last.

It's always made a very nice sum of money for Aer Lingus, but previous to when it was dropped for BFS-LHR it had an even earlier slot than 7:30 (IIRC).

This will of course probably be the biggest driver of growth for Shannon next year as it reclaims passengers who have been forced to fly from Dublin and Cork to arrive into London early.

It never was meant to return. Aer Lingus have the appropriate number of aircraft to operate their Sumner flying programme ex Dublin and Shannon across the Atlantic. Shannon will have 2 x Boeing 757's.

There will be 3 daily services to NYC from Dublin, as per current. 2 x JFK and 1 x EWR... All by 330, first departure in the morning will be the EI 105.

United's service to Chicago is running from the 26th May to the 6th September, not the 11th September as previously thought.

It will however, be running at daily for that entire period, as opposed to previous years when it only ran at daily from the 15th June-16th August and was at 5pw for the rest of the period.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Delta's JFK service now ends the 15th of October, 2 weeks cut off compared to this year.

Strangely alot of people seem to think the Norwegian announcement will be a good thing, but others express their fear at the loss of Aer Lingus services, or Aer Finglas as someone called it.

Personally I think Shannon should stay as far away from Norwegian as possible.

In the summertime Boston market could be supporting a daily A330 so there is room for both

I dispute this, and the main route for concern is JFK anyway.

With the 767-200, loads were good but not great, an A330 would lack in profitability in the peak summer months and then lose money every other month if operating daily.

Even if an A330 could be profitable, there's no way it would be as profitable as out of DUB.

Dissapointing that Berlin will probably move to Kerry but Manchester also isn't bookable for winter, could that be pulled too?
