But wouldn't it be quicker to travel by car?
By the time you you go to the airport, check-in, board the aircraft, taxi to the runway (I know its not long!), arrive at MAN, taxi to the gate, collect your baggage (I've heard it can take half an hour, if not more!), get out of Manchester airport, you are looking at it being at least 2 hours, 2 1/2 hours, even 3?
Plus, if the flights delayed that just adds extra time.
I'm not saying that the route wouldn't work with a small airline like e.g. AlphaOne (Looking for new routes), but easyJet, I don't think so.
But that's just my personal opinion. If easyJet do announce the route, great. Would be fantastic to have Manchester as a destination.

Puzzled about the "negativity" of the "projected" processing time at MAN.
Several points here, basically the first is based on experience of the Eastern BHX service, which is possibly the most akin to one parameter for what would be a MAN service (though heaven help if I had to endure any more J41's !). Having been a regular commuter on the BHX service through 2003/04, facilities at BHX were adapted to cater for this type of operation, aircraft stand adjacent to a vacant airbridge, up the external stairs with direct access into the terminal & within 5 minutes baggage was on carousel, or if "briefcase size was stored as "carry on" & was handed back on exit from aircraft. ie no problems & secondly if you were "in transit" presumably you would not be waiting to collect any baggage. So why not at MAN ??
On the 20 or so times I used this service it was seldom full & sometimes less than 10 passengers, though it has to be said that the return fare varied between £180 & £266, so I suppose that we are hardly comparing a low cost operation.
In the end the provision of a MAN service should be all about cost:- low volume & high price or vice versa. It's up to an operator to assess their market, given the connections at MAN & the current alternative travelling time, there must be a balance to be struck on seats on offer / price / frequency.

I take your point about LH and Dus but I don't think that LH have promoted Dus as a hub/link as per KLM at AMS and AF at CDG where adverts are frequently seen showing the hundred or so destinations (via) which are promoted showing attractive fares.
SAS I think will promote CPN as a hub for linking with the Far East and the Scandinavia/Baltic region and maybe USA

This is likely to be the W working of the SN RJ 85 that leaves BRS for SZG at 0830 on Sats and returns at 2110 BST.
I remember a couple of years ago the Sat SZG from BRS was operated by a Flybe DH-8-400 and that did a NCL W in the middle of the day.
Last summer the BRS Sat SZG was operated by a KLM F 100 that worked out and back in the afternoon/evening with no W in the middle.

This does seem to be a new departure for Easyjet, all five of the new summer routes are peak summer period, two or three times weekly using spare aircraft capacity, probably very cost effective.

Oooh IBZ!!! I bet the CC are over the moon with that one. More drunks to add to BFS, AGP, ALC, PRG, BUD.
I also hope XLA are making money hand over fist this summer from their contract with Air Atlanta/Islandsflug because they're gonna need all the profit they can get to shore up the business next summer when they lose any repeat business. What a shower of #### this lot have proved to be so far.

XLA SFB today
It sure was non stop. About 500kg under its Max Takeoff Weight for runway 25. 50mins late due to late inbound into gatwick from previous rotation. Think its got to be the smallest delay XL have had so far on the SFB/POP run. Everything went smoothly!!

A few months ago LCY had a poll on their website to ascertain popularity for planned routes to NCL and CPN.
CPN has now been confirmed to start with the winter timetable operated by SunAir under BA franchise.....hopefully we should have news on the NCL flights soon.
