It certainly is a shambles. With the airport actively trying to encourage long haul IT charters and the operators seemingly trying to put the passengers off long haul for ever. What chance will Cancun or other locations have of getting off the ground?
At least Toronto seems to operate largely without problems every year.
To be fair I should have added SFB to that last post

One Less Route For Newcastle.....
EUJet
26 July 2005
1500 hours 26th July 2005
Newcastle International has been informed that the airline EUJet has ceased operations. EUJet were flying three times a week between Kent International (Manston) and Newcastle. We have not received any information at present as to what action passengers who are currently booked to travel on future EUJet flights to/from Newcastle should take. As soon as we have information we will place it on this website.
Taken from the airports website.

EUJET
Could be an opportunity for BA to offer help using their GTW service in the same way that Easyjet and Monarch are doing with pax stuck in mainland Europe. i.e. £25 for any passenger with an EUJET itinary. Grateful passengers might stick with BA for future trips.

"Great News", chronology of this is puzzling however, if as mooted in my earlier mailing of 18th July that AA were only in process of considering the "A listed routes" and it would appear now in retrospect that a "GO" decision had been made much earlier.
It also raises the issue that this decision is clearly not subject to the fitting of the 757's with winglets, as no confirmation of such an order had been anounced last week.
Very interesting...., any idea's ?

Marvellous news for NCL and, given the spread of direct US services to the UK regions, not before time.
I read on another MB that the 757s will be all-economy configuration with 188 seats. Can anyone confirm?
As for winglets, CO have operated unwingletted 757s to EWR off the shorter BRS runway with no problems, although I believe the winglets are now starting to appear on the equipment used on that route.
If this is an all economy route it would appear to be a different strategy to CO. They use 172 seated 757s with 16 of the seats being business/first.

I believe the fligths are operated by 757s in US domestic config...there are a few F seats onboard but I believe that these will be sold to AA Frequent flyers and those who pay the full Y fare.

I'ver just found the link on the NCL website. It will be 188 all-economy configuration - daily, reducing to 5 per week in winter, as CO seems to do with its new UK transatlantic routes.
I note your comments about the F seats though.
