At the moment Britannia/Thomsonfly has G-BYAL & G-BYAS based at NCL, however these are constantly changing. One of them will be going to LTN for the weekend and a different one will no doubt come back up on Monday morning.

Rumour has it that the EUJet flights to Kent International are reducing to 3 weekly on Tu/Fri/Su from early June. Nothing on their website yet though.

Looks like the rumour is true. The EUJet website is now showing flights on Tues, Fri and Sun for a random date in August for flights to and from NCL.

I had doubts on whether this service would last. I cant see such demand for a flight to Kent.

I have to say though that a FLYBE service to Norwich could do alright or even routing an EASTERN from ABZ to NWI via NCL.

Does anyone have any further information on London City from Newcastle?

How is the SAS CPH doing?

re: SAS Copenhagen....last pax figure was 1457 for March...should have April figure next week.

London City...there is a copy of an e-mail received from LCY on another site in which they say that they have been looking for an operator and hope to be able to make an announcement soon.

I e-mailed EUjet just before they officially annouced the Kent Intl route. They replied saying there was a lot of demand for the flight.

I think the big mistake with the Kent Intl route was the ridiculous timing of the flights...apart from Sunday.

If they had operated with reasonable timings it may just have worked.

They only have themselves to blame. A charter flight with a captive audience can get away with bad timings but a scheduled domestic flight......timing and convenience for pax is the name of the game.

The new EU frequency commences on the 5th June and becomes 3 x weekly.....same times.....maybe they will operate one of the planned ATR 42 fleet (for thinner routes) on the route.

Quite an eventful day yesterday with pax being bussed up to catch diverted flights from Leeds after the runway over-run last night plus the long delayed Excel Rhodes flight caught up in the Rhodes morning ATC strike.

Think you'll find the Excel delay was more to do with awkward flight crew than anything to do with ATC anywhere. Angling for a night stop from the word go, and ended up getting it. The sooner Excel get shot of Islandsflug the better. They were a pain in the bum last year, and haven't improved over the last 12 months.

That was the March figure, I'm hoping the April figure is up to the 1,700 level

sorry, quite a co-incidence. With the shorter month it represents a slight improvement over March

britishJET.com

BritishJET.com (NCL-MTL)

BritishJET.com is to add Newcastle back to it's network. The airline did plan to start services at the end of MAY but will now start the route from 5th Nov 2005.
