Stewart, there was a possible rumour that we'd see a new route from fr. As their summer schedule still isnt finalised, this could be announced anytime in the lead to xmas. Flybe still havent confirmed whether or not they shall return (idiots). And apparently there may be good news from tui aka falcon holidays. We shall just have to continue to be patiently optimistic for our lil wallflower of an airport.

We're getting a flight from Turaif (TUI) in Saudi Arabia?????

Great news but I think I'd give the duty free a miss.

Tui is the company that owns Thomson, First Choice, Falcon Holidays, Finnmatkat, Arke etc. I wasn't refering to an IATA code...

Looks like LDY - TFS got the chop by FR. Not showing as operating for summer 2012.

Not necessarily.

1) It is still on the route map

2) It is still early enough for other flights to be loaded (they still be loading them in the new year)

3) Alicante was run this Summer despite not being on the map last winter, indeed it was only announced after Easter (which was a bit disastrous for load factors to be honest)

So still hope yet for TFS and indeed ALC (fingers crossed).

By the way, has anyone got the average load factors over the entire season of the international routes?

FR are updating there booking system now and route map will follow but they have removed flights to TFS. Dosn't mean there gone but at the monement they are not operating for summer 2012.

I have calculated the RYR EU routes up until end of Sept as Oct data isn't available yet. It is as follows:

Route/Pax/Pax Per Flight/LF

TFS/7581/158/71.6%
FAO/19828/157/83.3%
ALC/5939/175/92.4%

The total Passengers through CODA so far this year up until end of Sept is: 310,980

Also heard today that CODA are uncertain as to the future of the TFS flight.

I haven't heard anything lately.

I see LDY has been removed from the Flybe Route Map. It was still on there at the weekend so has been removed this morning at some stage.

It still comes up if you look at routes out of MAN.

The map seems pretty inaccurate though, as it doesn't show MAN-NQY at all, a route that has now started!

Flybe have just replied to someone on Twit-ter and stated that there are currently no plans to reinstate the LDY-MAN route for 2012! They sure were short lived at LDY.

The Manchester route never lasted long, I do hope TFS will be back again next summer as well as a ALC.

It's a real shame that Flybe haven't developed their operations out of ldy. The market was clearly there, and if they had served EDI and LGW in addition to MAN their load factors would have only got better.

Thankfully FR increased their rotations to LPL so we shouldn't see a drop in numbers to the NW of England next year.

Fingers crossed that one day BE return with some real oomph and passion to develop LDY. Regretably, I've updated the Wiki page.

There seems to be a delay in the CAA releasing the monthly data for Oct. I could only work out TFS using data provided from AENA.

Route/Pax Per Flight/LF

TFS/134/71%

I suppose it would be higher if we didn't have to include the last flight of the season which i'd say went out near empty.

Also i hear MOL is visiting NOC on Monday to announce 3 new routes. Made me think at what stage are FR going to take LDY seriously and show some commitment. All they have done is add a route here and there. They added ALC in 2009, FAO in 2010 and TFS in 2011. NOC had all 3 Canary routes announced together with 2 going year round. I assume we have lost ALC for 2012 as it has now been removed from the route map?

Why don't you ask your "source"? They've been spot on so far (oh, hang on.....).

As for BE; they really showed BHD what was what. Their response was as "robust" as the plans for infrastuctural developments in the NW of Ireland.

A bit of perspective is also required when referring to FR at CODA. If I wasn't for them there'd be no airport.

In fact if you look back they have been right about a few things and also badly wrong about others. Anyway at least I have a source I can ask Cuthere, you sit back in the distance waiting for someone to make a post and then try to demean it! Maybe try and gain a little respect for others and act like a grown man?!

I totally agree that without FR then CODA wouldn't be operating but what I'm saying is at what stage will they give us something to be happy about. I mean if AGP is added next year then yes it's a new route but it's really only taking over from ALC. Therefore Passenger numbers still don't increase. Also why not try a Year round route?

They were right about Tenerife. Anything else? They were ever so slightly wrong about EMA, EDI, MAN, LGW etc etc. And now we're waiting for Falcon and FR to announce something if your recent post is to be believed. I hope you're right.

I do have sources. But, I like to hang fire with any news rather than come on here promising the world. I love your enthusiasm Carn, it's great, and CODA could do with it. However, I have been following the airport on here for a LOOOOOONG time, and been flying from it for even longer. You appeared a year or two ago, and initially appeared to have the inside info. This is not the case. Perhaps you need to curb your enthusiasm until you have the hard facts.

As for demeaning posts, I haven't aimed any at you. I normally save those for the BFS nutters.

October stats are in. 35342, a 13.9% increase on last year, used the airport. I'll do a full breakdown later if I get a chance.

Cuthere, I'll save you the bother.

Route/Pax Per Flight/LF

STN/152/81%
BHX/141/74%
LPL/138/73%
TFS/137/72%
PIK/133/70%
FAO/128/68%

This now leaves the total Passengers for the year Jan-Oct at 346,322.
